Glad to see you gave this 5 stars, it’s on my want to read list!
I really don’t think she’d recommend a book she hadn’t actually read — even if it was for money. That would put her whole career at risk. So just enjoy the rec, bro
I haven’t devoured a book this fast since The Tenant lol!! I also haven’t cried over a book/character in a hot minute and this one is going to sit with me for a while!
As a writer I’m sure she enjoys reading so if she wants to unwind by reading then maybe she will finish 2 books in 2 days. It’s really not an unreasonable speed at all if she’s got some free time. It would jeopardise her career, reduce trust and reliability and also break relationships with fellow authors and their editors. I don’t understand why you can’t just take the rating and leave it, instead of making it into a big thing and criticising her.
I see why Freida Macfaden, a TBI surgeon recommended this book, it's incredibly uncanny and right on the mark, 5 stars
Author Holly Jackson gained insight into Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) for her adult novel, Not Quite Dead Yet, by consulting a neurosurgeon. Her research was conducted to ensure the medical details of the book were plausible.
FYI, if I rate two books in two days, it's because I'm catching up on reviews I didn't have a chance to post after reading! Especially when it's a book I got an advance copy of, I like to post my review closer to the release date!
