Ilse Fun for you to browse, and vicarious fun for us to get a flavour of it with your excerpts, thank you for sharing, HB! You illustrate deftly what a pleasure dictionaries can be.

I look at my shelves, which contain at least 24 different kinds of dictionaries, Ilse, and I have to make some decisions as to which to give away and which to keep. I wish you lived closer and I could make you a gift of some of them.

Gary Inbinder Sounds like an informative read, H. I've always enjoyed browsing through reference books like this. Now, I wonder if they will be replaced by AI. Of course, the AI will have to hoover up its information from the internet, and the internet hoovers up its information from the good old books. 😉
