Maggie (May's daughter) also disappears on p. 185, never to be heard from again. And I agree that Fagin needed to be re-imagined, but here, he's a criminal but not a villain. I wanted more scheming and cruelty out of him. But he's always the good guy, taking in the little mites, making food for them and cleaning up their boo-boos!
