From the Librarian Manual:
In some cases, a book may be originally published under a pen name, but then later reissued under the author's original name. When this happens, the author listed for any and all editions should be the author name the book was originally published under - so the reissued edition would need its primary author name changed to the originally published pen name, with the additional name added as secondary for all editions with it on the cover. Doing this will allow the various editions to be combined.
The booklisting for ASIN B0DX4LF4J5 has been updated:

But Nicole Allen doesn't exist anymore. Amazon has removed the books from that pen name. There's not even a Nicole Allen Goodreads account anymore.
Jennifer wrote: "But Nicole Allen doesn't exist anymore. Amazon has removed the books from that pen name. There's not even a Nicole Allen Goodreads account anymore."It doesn't matter what is on Amazon. If books bear the original name, we will catalogue them as such.
But there is nothing on the book or in the book tying it to Nicole Allen. The ISBN is registered to Jennifer Carr.
Yes, there is.You wrote yourself that you republished an already existing book under a new name. But the original work was published under the name of Nicole Allen, so the republished work is considered a new edition and your name Jennifer Carr was added as a secondary author, in conformity with GR's regulations.
And it does not matter that you will not use the name of Nicole Allen for your future releases. That does not mean that GR will delete that profile: it is still here:

People may have bought a previous editon with Nicole Allen as author in the past and may still want to add it to their reading list and review it.
Likewise GR does not delete author accounts of deceased authors.
I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm really not. I'm just trying to understand. Doesn't Goodreads allow authors to claim new editions under their current name and maintain accurate cataloging? In this case, the record should reflect Jennifer Carr as the primary and only author for this republished edition, with Nicole Allen irrelevant to the current version.
We're not trying to be difficult either, but we're merely volunteer librarians who spend their precious time and effort trying to maintain the GR catalog and we're only following GR's policy. Otherwise we would risk losing our librarian status. If you don't agree, please contact Support.
