Ben Thanks Traveller, let me give it a try:

CUT UP! An Anthology Inspired by the Cut-Up Method of William S. Burroughs & Brion Gysin, an anthology of experimental writing I've contributed to has been published last year.

Feel free to check it out, folks, as it also includes a piece written by the late Allen Ginsberg. I might be able to send a free copy to those who promise a review, depending on where they reside. The vast majority of readers would find this offbeat collection overall way bizarre though.

Folk on unknown paths might like RUDE VILE PIGS: a satirical black comedy set in the city of Sadwhitepeopledrinking, which follows the antics of Jim Joy, a middle-aged alcoholic who accidentally creates a religion dedicated to selfishness.

Recently divorced, depressed and living in a squalid flat, Jim realises that his newfound mobility and complete lack of shame can lead him to new exciting depths, doing whatever he wants and encouraging the same of others. Through his alcohol-fuelled misadventures, Jim is about to discover what happens when a society gives in to its basest impulses.

There's a giveaway here but those who kindly promise to review it can have a copy from me :)

Ciao and happy plugging!

Sean DeLauder If you're looking to kill a need for adventure, time travel, surrealism, science fiction, fantasy, monomyth, philosophy, dying earth, and a touch of mystery, there's no need to fill your Volkswagon with library books when you can obliterate them all with a single WonderTome, The Least Envied.

Cast back in time to a perilous wasteland, Andrew is tasked with recording the fate of an individual history has chosen to ignore. Threatened by knee-high creatures called Wogs, an enigmatic beast known as the Forest Monster, and the man orchestrating the slow annihilation of the world, Andrew discovers all hope for salvation and survival rests with a boy without a history.

Rumors circulating that this book will make you smarter, taller, healthier, more attractive, and imbue the skills of a world-class sitar player are completely true.

If you think you'd be interested in reviewing this work, let me know and I'll be happy to get you a free copy. If this does not sound interesting to you, please return to the first paragraph and begin again.

Note:
I'm happy to deliver an electronic copy anywhere, but print copies are limited to the US. I have tried to send hard copies overseas, but they usually don't make it more than a few feet from shore before sinking.

I have strong opinions about Burroughs, based on the influence he had on several friends who knew him, which I won't go into until I reread Naked Lunch. That is the subject for another thread which I may start at some point. But that has nothing to do with the intriguing possibilities of this technique. I'll check out your work!

"HER PERILOUS JOURNEY is the hilarious, sometimes harrowing story of Regina IV, the last in a long line of difficult, dispossessed Southern women, born into troubled times. She is an adventurer, hungry to explore every nook and cranny of life, but finds herself desperate to escape a neglectful and brilliant mother. Her real father has disappeared—only his myth remains. Her step-father sticks around, but for all the wrong reasons. Misguided and foolhardy, the young Regina sets out on her picaresque adventures. Will the beatnik Moriarity give her what she needs, or only make things worse? Will her husband’s strange sexual appetites take their toll?

With acid wit, mixed with the bittersweet language of a wounded heart, Regina describes what it felt like to live through the tragic events of the sixties and seventies, the assassinations of JFK, RFK and MLK, the Birmingham Bombing, Kent State and Vietnam. She shares her wide-ranging encounters with the male species, quirky members of her generation, and a Native American spirit guide named Ramon. “Her Perilous Journey” is Book One of the “First Woman Trilogy,” the unfolding story of a woman striving to make peace with herself, her culture, her country's violent history, and a stubborn, silent universe. “Shack of the Spirit,” Book Two, is expected in late 2016. “Kill The Buddha,” Book Three, will follow by late 2017. Paperback, 306 pages.

picaresque memoir, literary fiction, life journey, sexual adventures, spiritual quest

Rebecca We are offering an e-book of The Puppet Turners of Narrow Interior by Stephanie Barbe Hammer in exchange for an honest review no later than three weeks after you receive the book. The Puppet Turners of Narrow Interiors is a thought- provoking literary fiction novel about identity and creativity that merges magical realism, fantasy, and a distinctly American brand of humor.

“Just down the road from John Crowley’s characters is the town of Narrow Interior, the setting for Stephanie Hammer’s fable-ous first novel of secrets and heritage. Henry, the youngest son of a hotel magnate, is sent to calm the inhabitants as the hoteliers set about to despoil this odd byway. Instead, aided by his black sheep cousin and a cast of quirky characters, including Quirk, Henry sets out to discover the town secrets. The more he learns, the darker his mission appears, until Henry must choose if he is willing to risk all. Both fresh and redolent of ancient stories, The Puppet Turners of Narrow Interior brings us a new voice as Hammer applies her considerable knowledge and talent to the world of fiction.” –Kathleen Alcalá, The Desert Remembers My Name and Spirits of the Ordinary

"If Dali and Leonora Carrington and John Berryman had built a sports car together and then somehow turned it into writing, it would race right next to Hammer's novel; this is weird, fast, spunky, and wonderfully stubbornly itself. Wear a helmet" - Aimee Bender.

Please consider reading and reviewing this avant-garde literary fiction novel. If you would like to read and review The Puppet Turners of Narrow Interior, please email rebeccaberus@gmail.com or send a Goodreads message to Rebecca Berus.

Hmm, that might have to do with your notification settings? (I really hope it's only that...)

Would you please do me a favor, and i apologize for the inconvenience to you, but would you mind just scrolling to the bottom of this thread and make sure that you are not checked to follow this discussion?

PS, I see now that there's also a checkbox at the bottom of the 'post' box in which you write your message that it has "Add to my Update feed" checked for me. I have no idea if this is the default status, but you might want to set that to "off" as well.

Duncan Campbell If you like gripping thrillers with elements of sci fi, horror and fantasy...then you are in luck

Twenty years from now a virus breaks out in a couple of Arctic naval bases, and then, even more strangely, inside the White House. The guards become animated corpses, and rescue teams are rendered helpless by a mysterious trance effect. Underpaid academic Dr. Weaver has documents that refer to something similar happening in the time of Christ, and a group of billionaires seek him out and immediately set him to work. With the help of a super-hacker, he manages to track down a veteran who’s not susceptible to mind control. But this Sean “Jester” Solberg character is a wild card—an aggressive loner who lives with the immigrants outside the cities. The next recruit is even more unusual. Curtis Ferguson is the son of a couple of anthropologists and reportedly the world’s most powerful witch doctor. Into this bizarre, dysfunctional group is thrust Jodie Goodwin, a down-to-earth Texan girl with exceptional shooting skills. The newly formed team creep into the bunkers deep under the capital and encounter mankind’s ancient enemies. They end up fighting for survival and soon discover that their lives depend on the powers of the young, but untested, shaman.

J.M. Hushour "Weatherhead" is a dark and lovely tale that would appeal to anyone who loves the weird and surreal. Five star reviews all around so far. Reviewers say:

"Amongst the phantasmagoria and humor there is an unease, the feeling that the ground will give way beneath you..." & "It was trippy and bizarre and really rather sad".

Nine months after his wife's death, a man is abducted from his house by a band of violent thieves and taken to a nightmarish city called Weatherhead. There he falls under the dark attentions of the cruel, despotic ruler of the city: the wife he thought dead.
This a love story between a person still living and a person still dead. It is also a hate story between the same, a violent story populated with all manner of ruffians, crimes, running street battles between Love and Hate (a particularly nasty bunch who hang out at soda fountains and dress terribly) and knife-fights between mourning and evening spouses. It is a story of how we remember those who are lost, and how we rebuild those who shattered in life. If life is a place in which we die, what does that make death?

My novel ‘The Miracle Adjuster’ is now available on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk in paperback or ebook for Kindle amzn.to/2bXKodT

Here’s a couple of cherry-picked quotes from the first reviews:

“…a journey through a psychedelic drug induced dream sequence; almost new age Monty Pythonesque”.

“The Miracle Adjuster exists in an Orwellian fantasy world full of off-beat characters, situations and humour. The writing style is excellent; the imagination is fantastic and it’s a very clever novel”.

You can still enter the Goodreads giveaway to win 1 of 20 signed copies at bit.ly/2aYNIEk and you can find the first chapter on my Goodreads blog at bit.ly/2aLapfC

https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sh...

Official release date for HYPER is May 27th on Amazon and KindleUnlimited.

“Evil doesn’t have a problem finding the middle of nowhere.”
People are being savagely murdered on Decontamination Depot 315 and Charlie Kennedy needs to figure out who's doing it. Is it the most logical choice, the prisoner visiting the depot who happens to be a convicted multi-murderer? Or is it the goody-two-shoes from Kansas who seems to be everybody's best friend? Or maybe the soldier from the Russian crime syndicate? And don't forget about the thug from the south side of Chicago. To make matters worse, the culprit has programmed the depot to self-destruct unless Charlie can figure out some way to stop it.

No matter how far mankind travels into deep space, evil will always be at his side ready to twist his moral compass one hundred and eighty degrees.

Pamela Cox Tales of Habib the Hoaxter: Sometimes Hoaxed, Always Good for a Laugh
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CV9VZH1Z
Here is a collection of 30 witty stories about Habib, an Arab folk hero who has appeared under many names for hundreds of years. Each tale contains a twist, often with the verbal knife, guaranteed to make you laugh aloud with delight.
These fables will transport you to an exotic, timeless world filled with marvels and belief in marvels. In this world, whether the little guy wins or loses depends on how well he uses his wits. Sometimes cunning, sometimes credulous, Habib has a unique way of thinking that will enable you to see the world in a new and wondrous way.
Many of the stories convey moral lessons, while others convey pure amusement, bringing laughter either at Habib’s cleverness or at his lack thereof.
Be prepared for an entrancing journey into “one day,” an adventure that will transport you far from your everyday life, then will return you to it with new and marveling eyes.

Garry Harper My latest novel The Ship of Theseus is now available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Ship-Theseus-G...

The Ship of Theseus tells the story of Pablo Navarre, a successful young artist and sculptor, whose world—and his grip on reality—begin to unravel as he succumbs to an obsessive pursuit of perfection. However, the unique aspect of the novel is not the story per se, but rather in the manner that it is being written and released.

Just as Pablo chases perfection in his artwork, the novel itself will likewise continue to be refined and reimagined over time. Every few months, a new, free update to the exclusively digital release will take the place of the last. Plot points may change, characters may come and go, the very form and structure altered and experimented upon. Each version is designed to stand alone, yet together they form a living, breathing work—gradually transforming into something completely different from where it all began.

I am hoping that fans of books that play with structure and form such as Julio Cortazar's Hopscotch, Jennifer Egan's A Visit from the Good Squad, or Mark Danielewski's House of Leaves will enjoy this work. I have temporarily lowered the price to the $0.99 minimum to help it gain some traction—and there's certainly no better opportunity to get in from the very beginning.

You can read more about the ongoing project at www.ProjectTheseus.com or by following me on facebook.com/GarryHarperAuthor or x.com/GarryHarperX.
