Atropos Colley is about to decide what element she links her soul to, and one thing is for certain, whatever she chooses will cause irreparable damage to her family.

Calédrial is a magical camp where sorcerers go to learn to control their powers. The Colley siblings, Atropos, Riven and Ingo, are on their way there. Since it is the second year at Calédrial for Atropos and Riven, they will have to decide on one of the four elements to specialize in. For the Colleys it’s a no brainer, every generation chooses water. But the twins are planning on defying their father’s expectations by choosing another element, a rebellion that could mean being ostracized from their family.

Here’s my fast-paced epic fantasy. Not romantasy, not even remotely cozy. It’s a bit controversial.

It’s set in a dual-kingdom world. The main characters are in love, so there’s a strong romantic backbone, but the world is bigger than them and the stakes are real — a moving darkness threatens to consume the Citadel they live in, and war breaks out with the other kingdom. This is only Volume 1, so the ending is… kind of heartbreaking. But I’d genuinely love to know how you feel about it.
