the way i read this entire thing. you've definitely deterred me from the series. also, not you hitting the world limit!! lol.

KB *cursed with a freaking salmon patronus* BYE THIS WAS SO FUNNY this was a more entertaining read than iron flame omg. But also yes insecure person wish fulfillment. It literally felt like someone wanted to write themselves as the MC of the SJM universe 🦹😍

★Sophia★ (Frieder's Version) I would rather read a 600 page negative review of this book than actually read the book

message 4: by yasmine (new)

yasmine this was an INCREDIBLE REVIEW

message 5: by Carmella G. (new)

Carmella G. Lol couldn’t agree more 😂

message 6: by Bree (new)

Bree Gonzalez I just finished this and you gave a way better review of this then the one I gave my friends.. I love you, thank you for your service and I will suffer with you lmao

Ayeley 𐙚 ·˚ I am now starting to read iron flames and I thought I was tweaking?😭 she is trying to villainize Xaden so bad meanwhile her memory got acessed and just a word he told her got them into trouble. So I’m struggling to see how Xaden “betrayed her trust”

message 8: by Gildergreen (new)

Gildergreen I would pay real American dollars to get this review in hardback.

message 9: by Sarah (new)

Sarah I really don't understand how the book can have so many stars omg ...

I love your review Q_Q <3

message 10: by Sonja (new)

Sonja Bee Now I want to read it. Just to know, if this is really sooo bad or sooo good.

message 11: by liko (new)

liko wan This review ayteee

message 12: by Sue (new)

Sue Miz There should be a GR review award
And this should win

message 13: by Courtney (new)

Courtney This review is everything. I was more invested reading this review than the actual book

message 14: by Gemma (new)

Gemma Absolutely unhinged but perfect review, A+

message 15: by Sarah (new)

Sarah lmao suzanne collins invented rebellion & jk rowling invented villains guys, u heard it here first. /s

message 16: by Mega (new)

Mega Mega SCREAMINGGG at the last sentence of the book

message 17: by Brooke (new)

Brooke Perro This review cured the brain rot I acquired after reading the first 26 chapters 🤗 don’t waste your time in this “AdULt FanTAsY”. It’s giving millennial core, it’s giving pick me, it’s giving YA writing with a few underwhelming sex scenes… someone tell RY to stay on Wattpad 🙄

message 18: by Gloria (new)

Gloria “insecure person wish fulfillment” 💀I was excited to finish the book specifically so i could read 1 star reviews and this one wins

message 19: by caitlinreads (new)

caitlinreads This review is a work of art. 👌🏼 *chef’s kiss*

message 20: by Megan (new)

Megan I had more fun reading this review than I did Iron Flame before I DNF’ed it! Kudos <3

message 21: by Helena (new)

Helena Lantz This is the funniest review I’ve ever seen 😭 but also so true

message 22: by ParanoidSlug (new)

ParanoidSlug I agree with everything you said. At this point, I wish Xaden would become mega Venin and fuck off far away from Violet and her personality-sucking self

message 23: by Romi (new)

Romi I actually had been considering picking up Iron Flame so I could see if everything that made me hate Fourth Wing ever got any better. Thank you for saving me the brain damage I would inevitably take from the book, I am definitely not touching this book or anything else written by Yarros ever again. Your suffering was not in vain lol

message 24: by Roos (new)

Roos Koopman Haha o m g. This was intense and I loved it. I listened to the audiobook which made the experience even worse. I could not stand how many times she mentioned “his dark gold flecked onyx eyes” and wtf; I think she must’ve said the frase “In a heartbeat” at least 50 times. No originality whatsoever. I really felt the same frustration and cringe as mentioned in your review. You worded it perfectly.

lami ☆ [eyes on palestine] I love a dedicated hater, thank you for your service🫂

message 26: by Bernardine (new)

Bernardine Santos I thought it's a ME problem when I needed to reread sentences just to get them because why does everyone else seem to like this series 😭

message 27: by Kara (new)

Kara S I’m crying, this is the best thing I’ve ever read (unlike that book)

message 28: by BrookeL (new)

BrookeL thank god someone else took the same amount of psychic damage as me with that last line. I read the last page to see if I would even WANT to read this book and I saw that line, closed the book, took a deep breath and then laid down XD. I have never experienced a hit like that. I had to contemplate my life. I had to think if I still want to publish a book if this is what I am competing with and it is insanely successful. I had to really look at myself in the mirror and determine if I was a masochist, given I have chosen to read this book even after reading that line because all my friends are pressuring me so that we can talk about it. I might just watch a youtube video that tells me everything so I don't have to subject myself to reading the actual words this book tries to string together. ):

message 29: by Emily (new)

Emily Renee Omg this review is perfect. 😂

message 30: by Reader (new)

Reader Thank you! Your reviews of the two books made my enduring Fourth Wing worth it. Must cleanse my palate with a good book!

message 31: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Ratliff Willett This was way more entertaining than the actual book.

message 32: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bolin this was the best thing i've ever read. not best review. just general written work. just incredible.

i just finished fourth wing and i'll never get those hours of my life back. thank you for saving me the hours and money it would take to read the second book by letting me know the caliber was even lower (not sure how that's possible, but i believe you).

don't stop reviewing bad books. i think it's your calling.

message 33: by Nikki (new)

Nikki It's really nice reading the 1 star reviews, after Fourth Wing and the pure, unfiltered anger I still have from that stupid mess of a book, I mentally struggle to see why anyone would like either of these books and feel like I was pranked. Did I read the same book everyone is raving about? Answer unfortunately is yes, and I am so mad that such a trash book got published in the first place. That a second was published. That i saw the announcement date for the third. I have anger issues because of RY, and I feel like I should be financially compensated for the pain and suffering I had to endure in Fourth Wing. I won't touch anymore of her books, I hate her writing style, I hate RY.

message 34: by Maria (new)

Maria Arista Your comment was the best thing I read in months (yes i read both 4th wing and this horrible book last month). your review make laugh so hard and ended up crying by the laugh. I need more of your content now 😂😂😂😂

message 35: by Isabella (new)

Isabella Medeiros I loved your review and I laughed a lot! Thanks! I've just finished book 1 and had no interest in reading the second, but I needed to know what was going to happen

Emily(Cardan's and Nikolai's version) NOT THE WORD LIMIT LOL 💀Thanks for taking that sacrifice, I was seriously contemplating reading the series, now I WILL NOT 🫡

carla ˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ girl thanks i won’t even start the first book because of this review😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

message 38: by Olivia (new)

Olivia Carpenter This 🙌🏽 is the most accurate and relatable review of all time. Bless, someone else who truly knows my pain. How on God’s green earth this has so many 3-5 star reviews, I will never understand.

message 39: by laurafee (new)

laurafee This review is awesome lol

message 40: by Jenny P (new)

Jenny P This is EXACTLY how I felt about this book. Such an A+ review. Very well done!

message 41: by Amanda (new)

Amanda You took the words right out of my mouth. Never wanted to throat punch a book before....now I have. Absolute garbageeeeee!!!!

message 42: by Meg (new)

Meg Percy I’m now stalking your account and reading all your reviews and I cannot stop laughing. This is your gift. Keep doing it. Next I suggest the Caraval and Once Upon a Broken Heart series, I cannot wait to see what you do with them

message 43: by Mega (new)

Mega Mega THIS IS IT THIS IS THE IRON FLAME REVIEW LITERALLY SICK AND TIRED OF ALL THE HYPE AROUND THIS SERIES I FELT LIKE I WAS READING A WATTPAD BOOK I LOST BRAINCELLS READING THIS TRAINWRECK

message 44: by Hawk (new)

Hawk Alvina The devolvement of this review is so good

message 45: by RMA (new)

RMA I only read Fourth Wing, then I read your review and there are literal tears streaming down my face, this is legitimately the funniest review I have ever read holy crap

⋆ b r e z ! ⋆ my thoughts exactly 👌

message 47: by Giovanna (new)

Giovanna Granja Couldn't agree more! This book reminds me of this text Ursula Le Guin wrote: "Commodified fantasy takes no risks: it invents nothing, but imitates and trivializes. It proceeds by depriving the old stories of their intellectual and ethical complexity, turning their action to violence, their actors to dolls, and their truth- telling to sentimental platitude. Heroes brandish their swords, lasers, wands, as mechanically as combine harvesters, reaping profits. Profoundly disturbing moral choices are sanitized, made cute, made safe. The passionately conceived ideas of the great story-tellers are copied, stereotyped, reduced to toys, molded in bright-colored plastic, advertised, sold, broken, junked, replaceable, interchangeable.

What the commodifiers of fantasy count on and exploit is the insuperable imagination of the reader, child or adult, which gives even these dead things life—of a sort, for a while."

message 48: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Moore Oh my god thank you so much for this review. I just finished it and, like, IM ON HOLIDAY, HOW DARE THIS BOOK BE SO BAD ON MY HOLIDAY!! But reading your review made me feel better and like I’m not taking crazy pills. Can you recommend a good fantasy book for me? I think I might like the genre but hated these.

message 49: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Just one question, why did you read the second book if you disliked the first so much? Why spend money and time if you hate it so much?

message 50: by Izzie (new)

Izzie Knox THANK YOU!!! also quick point wth was with everyone threatening to throttle eachother??? There was one page that violet threatened to throttle Tairn after he said he would throttle her and someone else said it after that like(???)!!!!!! ✨ ⭐️ 🌈 CrEatiVitY IG⭐️🌈✨
