Thibault Busschots I’m so happy for you that you’ve found another five star read. In a fifth book of a series, you don’t come across that very often. And from a author you still haven’t forgiven! :D Glad Haymitch and the narrator helped make this such a strong story. Fantastic review, Rosh. Hope the series can end on this high note and not slowly fade away with many more sequels that don’t reach the same height as this one.

Akankshya Wonderful review, Rosh! So happy you liked this book 🥰
I totally agree about Suzanne Collins absolutely nailing the continuity, and somehow managing to keep this new while mixing in Easter eggs. It really is one of the darkest in the series (although Mockingjay ranks higher for me).

I still haven’t forgiven her for killing off you-know-who in Book Three either, I pretend like they're still alive :'(
I would absolutely read a book about Tigris!

message 3: by Canadian Jen (new)

Canadian Jen Still going strong with this series, Rosh! I'm happy you are enjoying it so much. Fabulous review!

message 4: by Esta (new)

Esta Okay now I need to do audio with Jefferson White! I’m so happy you loved this book Rosh! This was definitely the darkest in the series, I agree. I am going to do a reread before the movie comes out next year and I fear I’m going to get traumatised all over again. I would love a book with Finnick or even Annie. But the series doesn’t need anymore either haha. Lovely review my friend! 🥹❤️‍🩹

Affy Yay!! :D

len ❀ [ia bc of school] great review, rosh! i told myself i was gonna read all the earlier books before this came out and now here i am, in the same spot. it's good to see many people enjoying this though and not seeing people feel like it was worthless or an unnecessary addition. a lot of times authors continue adding to their series when it's not needed. glad this was such as a winner for you!

Cher 'N Books Fantastic review, Rosh. This has me excited to read this installment, and I will make sure to include the audiobook version. I bet this would make an excellent palate cleanser!

message 10: by Tina (new)

Tina I'm so glad this one got all the stars from you! A wonderful review Rosh 🌟

message 11: by Alexandra (new)

Alexandra It was lovely to read your enthusiastic review, Rosh! I am glad the series is ending (maybe?) on a high note for you 🥰

message 12: by Dale (new)

Dale Harcombe Great review Rosh.😁

message 13: by P.B. (new)

P.B. Flower Such a detailed review. Suzanne Collins has done a fantastic job with this series. The trilogy in itself was great, but the prequel and this one in between is a wonderful addition. And I agree with you, ending this series on a high note is perhaps the best.

message 14: by JustJJ (new)

JustJJ Great review Rosh! 💙 Glad this was the best in the series for you

message 15: by Chantel (new)

Chantel As I've not been able to be very active on this site, I've missed getting the chance to read your incredible reviews, Rosh! I think I had only read 1-2 of these books when they first came out & didn't realize how "big" they had gotten as time went on. I found your review of this one 0.5 really interesting :) xx

message 16: by Vasilii (new)

Vasilii Amazing review! So glad you enjoyed it!!!🖤💗

message 17: by Srivalli (new)

Srivalli (Semi-Hiatus) So... delighted that this was an almost full-stars read for you! Can't say much because I don't know anything about the series, but hey, you love it and that's what matters!
Terrific review, Rosh. 💖 Such a relief to have a narrator who aces it!

message 18: by Jayme (new)

Jayme Glad this delivered for you! Terrific review! 💞

Saranya ⋆☕︎ ˖ (hiatus) Ahh! I'm so glad you enjoyed this one, Rosh!! I really need to read this series soon. Fantabulous Review!!!<3

NZLisaM (On Semi-Hiatus as Moving House) I loved every second of reading your review. I was so hoping that you would enjoy this one. 💜

Shelley's Book Nook Amazing review, Rosh. So happy this was such a winner for you. 🤗💕

Persephone's Pomegranate I'm glad you enjoyed this one far more than the last Hunger Games book you reviewed. I've noticed this being shared frequently on my friends' profiles, and the majority have loved it.
Your writing about this world truly inspires me to dive into it.
For some reason, this universe has never captured my interest before. Fantastic, engaging, and detailed review, Rosh :)

message 24: by Snjez (new)

Snjez Excellent review, Rosh! I haven't read any of the prequels, but I'm so glad too see you loved this one so much. 💗

message 25: by Nancy (new)

Nancy I’m happy to see it got all the stars from you, Rosh! I still haven’t read this series, but hear such great things about it.

message 26: by Jenny (new)

Jenny Wonderful review Rosh!
I was always a fan of the series except the one telling the story of Snow.
I was not going to read another Hunger games but reading your review I am so tempted! I was always fond of Haymitch's character I cant wait to read his story, I have no doubt its going to be dark.

Thanks so much, Thibault! I shall never forgive her for that decision! 😤 But I do like her writing in general. 😁 I'm also happy this turned out to be a five star read. The tide is finally turning on my 2025 books. I hope this lasts! And I also hope the series ends here.

Thanks much, Akankshya! 💞 I know right! Such amazing continuity on both directions; I was just amazed!
Hugs, my dear friend! That decision in Book Three was such a betrayal! 😤
Oh yes, Mockingjay is very dark! Unfortunately for me, I was more annoyed by Katniss in that book for her constant swinging between Gail and Peeta, so it wasn't a perfect reading experience.

Rosh ~catching up slowly~ Canadian Jen wrote: "Still going strong with this series, Rosh! I'm happy you are enjoying it so much. Fabulous review!"

Ending on a high note, Jen! Thank you!

Thanks so much, dear Esta! 💞 Once I completed this book, I went to your site and splurged on all the amazing posts you have put up for this series. 😍
That's one reason I don't want to read the main trilogy again. Book Three will traumatise me most of all! 😥

Rosh ~catching up slowly~ Diane wrote: "Terrific review, Rosh! ;)"

Thanks, Diane! 😊

Thanks so much, Len! I had been sure I won't continue with the series, lol. But I simply couldn't resist Haymitch's story. I hope you enjoy the series whenever you can fit it in your schedule. 🤍

Rosh ~catching up slowly~ Cher 'N Books wrote: "Fantastic review, Rosh. This has me excited to read this installment, and I will make sure to include the audiobook version. I bet this would make an excellent palate cleanser!"

Thanks much, Cher! Oh yes, the perfect popcorn entertainer in between our serious reads. I hope you enjoy it too.

Rosh ~catching up slowly~ Alexandra wrote: "It was lovely to read your enthusiastic review, Rosh! I am glad the series is ending (maybe?) on a high note for you 🥰"

Thanks much, Alexandra! I do hope this is the end! I'd hate for a new book to turn out like Book Four. 😁

Thanks much, PB. 💞 'Detail' is my middle name, lol. I hope the author doesn't continue with the series just because this one worked so well. Milking a good series isn't a nice plan in the long run.

Oh yes, the series has exploded! 😁 Not all the books are 5 stars, but this one certainly is.

Thanks so much, Sri! 💞 As you know, I'm not a big fan of YA series, but I'm glad I gave this one a go. It's totally worth a read.
Oh yes, thank heavens for the narrator this time!

Thanks, Perse! This is a new release, so it will definitely be more common in the algorithm for the time being. I'm glad it turned out better than the fourth book.
It's an increasingly interesting universe, and sad to say, what was a dystopian fictional dictator is turning out to be a close avatar of an actual current president. I hope things never reach the Hunger Games level in real life, but we aren't far away from it. 🤐 If you do give the books a try, I hope you enjoy them.

Rosh ~catching up slowly~ Snjez wrote: "Excellent review, Rosh! I haven't read any of the prequels, but I'm so glad too see you loved this one so much. 💗"

Thanks much, Snjez! 💞 Reading this prequel made the boredom of the first book worth suffering. 😅
