Hi Ron, I'm sorry you thought that the first part of Peacock's extraordinary life was a 'drag', but I might point out that this is a biography, and further, that actually two thirds of the book are all about his service in the Second World War. There is some groundbreaking research in this book, revealing things totally unacknowledged in the history of the Burma campaign, so there are plenty of 'actual exploits' in there. Anyhow, if it didn't float your boat, that's fair enough. If you want to read a book about SOE in Burma that is all war and no biography, you might try my first book, 'SOE in Burma'. Thanks for your review though, and happy onward reading. Rich
