I only read the last quarter and even that I mostly skimmed. I wanted to see if there was some kind of switeroo, but no. The whole canon was flipped. HEAs and just rewards, but the Darcys were poor and the Wickhams were rich. It was weird, offputting and unenjoyable. Although the writing wasn't bad.

I am happily installed at the lovely, homey Chawton Cottage. Coming directly from Pemberley, Chawton is a bit of a cultural shock. In addition to the much smaller, more modest dwelling, I find a noticeable lack of staff. A maid-of-all-work, a footman, a gardener appear to be the entirety of the employees. Well, no matter, I am willing and able to lend a hand.
Tarts may be beyond my ability, but I am known for sweet, tangy lemon bars and my sugar cookies melt on the tongue. I can easily make tea for everyone, but an initial search of the kitchen has failed to locate a Keurig. I must make do as best I can.

Mrs. Bennet is hysterical. I wouldn't be surprised if she was ADD too. It was sometimes hard to keep up with the poor woman's thought process. But I loved that we got a glimpse into her kind and loving heart.

I am not fond of much later in life getting together, but this seemed to drag on. And the end with them all being together at Pemberley was ridiculous. And where did Mr. and MRs. Gardiner disappear to while all the bed hopping was going on, even though they were all old and widowed.
