Alessandro Gerosa Hi everyone,

I am the author of a book on Goodreads that I successfully claimed in the past. The book is titled "The Hipster Economy". I recently noticed I couldn't find it on Goodreads, and after some attempts, I managed to access the page (at https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...), which, however, states: "This item does not meet our catalog guidelines and can no longer be rated or reviewed".

Now, this leaves me considerably puzzled because my book doesn't fall anywhere close to any example provided of why a book may not meet the criteria. It's a proper book published by a highly reputable academic publishing house.

If someone could provide me with some clues for why it has been reported and if there may be ways to remedy this situation, I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks in advance to everyone

Alessandro Gerosa Thank you a lot, Scott, this is wonderful!

Sorry if I follow up immediately with another question, but I'm kindly exploiting your expertise here :). I saw that the solution was related to deleting an introductory sentence I added to the blurb, specifying that the book is available in Open Access from the publisher's page. I obviously respect if this may violate Goodreads ToS.

I was wondering, though, if there may be some way which doesn't violate Goodreads standards to signal it's open access and freely accessible from the publisher's page. Otherwise, it's a pity that many people may be prevented from reading it because they don't want to spend the money necessary to buy it without knowing they can read it for free.

Scott It was merely a glitch that sets valid books as invalid. I removed some things from the description that should not be there according to site policy, but that was incidental.
