Born in Tehran, I migrated to the United States alone at the age of 19, fleeing arranged marriage, war, trauma, and abuse. My debut memoir, My Name Means Fire will be published in just a couple of days. It is an exploration of resilience, survival, and life with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).
In the words of Olga Trujillo (author of The Sum of My Parts): “...My Name Means Fire is raw, brave, and profoundly validating . . . a compassionate and insightful glimpse into dissociation.”
As a psychotherapist and writer, I'm passionate about expanding public understanding of trauma, dissociation, and healing. If you live with Dissociative Identity Disorder, or know someone who does, perhaps my story can help with your experience or healing journey.
You can pre-order the memoir or find out more details below:
I look forward to connecting with you all, whether in this group, at the launch event on October 15 (Greenlight Bookstore in NYC), or elsewhere online.
