Jan-Maat My impression was that the suffragettes usual acts of terrorism was blowing up post boxes and throwing bricks through windows. I am sure a lot of people were inconvenienced by such dreadful terrorism, I don't know if any one was injured. I tbink you are right, the issue was that the Pankhursts in particular were upper middle class women and relarively wealthy, still Sylvia Pankhurst stayed radical all her life and campaigned against Imperialism, was anti-racist, and a campaigner for social justice.
