Thanks for reading Torn. Unfortunately in missing the point you most definitely got the point. Is abortion horrific? Yes, it is. The books intent was not the sugarcoated. How many times have I been told in my career that it’s just a removal of a bunch of cells. That is blatantly false. It is the removal of the baby from its mother with the intent to kill it. On the other hand, based on my own experience, there are many women who became pregnant through no fault of their own, but were in unfortunate circumstances. They had no support in their life and nowhere to turn. Plan parenthood encourage them to terminate their pregnancy. Their family was embarrassed because of the situation that they were in. Obviously these were young women of child bearing age. They were confused with no one to help them. I too am a Roman catholic in the extremely disappointed that the church does not come out with his strongest stance against abortion. It really bothers me. You got the point of the book. Abortion is a very horrible experience. I’m disappointed that you missed the whole point. If you had gotten through it, you would’ve seen the doctor Jack Connelly at the end of the book refuses to abort his own child who is afflicted with down syndrome. He becomes enlighten. His friend father Bill really helps to counsel him. He is Jack’s alter ego. People can change. People can see things through a different lens. The purpose of the book was for pro choice and pro-life so they could have a civil discussion without hating each other. I would like you to know that I respect your opinion and I’m very happy that you posted your thoughts on this page. I really hope that you’ll understand what I’m trying to say and perhaps reevaluate what you read.
