It's so telling that you didn't even mention who wiped her memory. It was Vlad, the second most important character in all of Hack/Slash. Vlad remembers what happened, so how is it pointless? In many Hack/Slash stories, Cassie vents to Vlad about her emotional turmoil. The ending of Hack/Slash: Back to School revealed how much baggage Vlad is willing to carry for his best friend. She already has enough guilt and trauma as it is, and he understood this.
