Stacy Milacek I totally agree with you. But, as I had given up on even receiving this KS, I guess it's better than nothing. It will be interesting to see what develops with Alien, now that Valiant has partnered with them. I have a feeling it will be more graphic novels, at least, I hope so.

Tres Dean Hey! I wrote this thing - thank you for taking the time to talk about it on here. The Kickstarter thing remains one of the weirdest professional experiences of my life and I still feel so awful the publisher put fans through that. We’d finished the book and had it ready for print in July 2022 and then just didn’t hear anything for like a year. Feel pretty fortunate that no Valiant fans seemed to hold it against the creative team but at a certain point I realized I was the only person communicating with any of them about it and I basically didn’t know anything. Didn’t help that I think I definitely knew this book wasn’t worth a two year wait (though I’ll go to bat for Alberto’s art, I think he did some killer work in here). One of those weird ones for me where I think it either needed 20 extra pages or 10 fewer but they were firm on the page count.

Anyways; this was a really strange professional experience and sometimes I forget it even happened as I’ve largely stepped away from the industry but it really does make me happy to hear it eventually found its way into the hands of the people who ordered it. Thanks for taking the time to read it and for supporting it and talking about it, seriously.

Tres Dean Oh! Also re: pronoun clarity, if I’m remembering correctly we wanted Raze to be genderless but I feel like the they/them pronouns may have gotten flubbed during late stage copy edits.
