Is the author from here? I just can’t image Lake Red Rock being a good setting for a book. It’s not really a “lake country” lake.
No, I'm not from your area. Like most authors, I took liberties because this is a fiction book but I think I represented the small town spirit of Pella. I've now visited the area twice. Both visits were after writing the book. I chose the location because my late father suggested it. It was on his list of places to visit but he never made it there.
