Absolutely valid. I love and hate Berserk for this reason. I'm a bit hesitant to try grimdark on the scale many of my friends have

So sorry for your pain and suffering reading this. I hope you’ll be okay. I never realized or imagined that something that took place in a made up fantasy world, that’s apart of a fictional story, committed by fictional people, could offend someone so much….instead of complaining about something like that happening in a make believe world by make believe people, how about you dedicate time to preventing it in REAL LIFE? Just asking. Unless the author is promoting it or hinting that it’s an acceptable thing to do, I don’t see an issue with it happening in their book. But that’s just me…
