Marie I just finished this book: The Wolfen - really good - I rated it 4 stars.

message 3: by Felina (new)

Felina Ooo I have a really cool old looking copy of that book from the late 80's. I'm glad it's good.

I finished The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson on Saturday. It was very good. 5 stars. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

message 4: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Ehra Finished Jade City by Fonda Lee. The combination of wuxia-esque fantasy and gangster politics was highly creative.

message 5: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I just finished Tales from the Gas Station: Volume Four. It's a comedy cosmic horror series, and volume four was just as funny and weird and the first three.

message 6: by Kasia (new)

I've been wanting to read that one for so long, isn't there a 2nd book now too?

What an amazing book! I found Klune's House on the Cerulean Sea really good but a little too YA for me. But Whispering Door was the perfect mix of whimsy, comedy, and heart.

Thanks! Good to know that. Some reviewers of UTWD commented that they liked his first book better. Made me think I picked up the wrong one to start with. Seems like I didn't.

Ian (RebelGeek) Seal I just finished Pandora's Star for the Sword and Laser book club March pick. My library hold took too long to get it in March. I gave it 4/5 stars. It's a bit like A Song of Ice & Fire stylistically. interesting ideas about the future. Reminded me a bit of Altered Carbon. It's a big one. The audiobook was almost 30 hours. It's a cliffhanger ending, so maybe plan on reading the next book soon after. I have it on hold (4 weeks).

Whoa that's a long audiobook, most that I listen to are 11-14 hours, impressive feat! I still can't stop laughing at a story my friend told me, she was listening to a Sherlock Holmes audiobook on CD back in the day in her car while driving to work and was so confused by the story, turned out she had "shuffle" mode on so it kept switching up the chapters! :D

message 16: by Ian (RebelGeek) (new)

Ian (RebelGeek) Seal Ha!

message 17: by Ian (RebelGeek) (new)

Ian (RebelGeek) Seal I think the only book I actually listened to on CD was The Divine Comedy. I got it for free from a vendor at a convention. Wait, I think I ripped the audio & listened on my old iPod. I can't remember now. ha ha.

message 18: by Felina (new)

Felina That’s hilarious. I’ve always been an audiobook fan and I remember dealing with discs. Then when I got my first iPod I would get them and upload them onto my computer. Now my library uses Overdrive it’s so easy.

I’m going to check out Pandora’s Star.

I just restarted Malice. I put it down a while ago for some reason. Amazing so far. I don't know why I stopped reading it. I probably bought a new stack of books......like usual.

I just binge read the whole series back between December and January. I had read Malice a couple or so years ago and never continued on with the series so I reread Malice in December and then when January hit I ended up binge reading the rest of the books. I was so happy that I did because it just made me want to stay in that world and never leave. Definitely an epic series! :)

message 25: by Marie (new)

Marie I just finished reading this one which was a deep sea shark thriller and it had tons of action mixed with sharp teeth, blood, gore along with graphic descriptions of human snacks.
