"The Hollows" series by Kim Harrison features lead character Rachel Morgan, who has VERY curly hair. Lots of books in the series, best to start at the beginning.
What this made me think of immediately is the cover for Really Good, Actually:
.But it wasn't a book I loved and I don't remember if there was written description of her hair, so not sure why that's all I can think of.
I think this is one I'll probably come across randomly, as soon as there's a reference to curls in the plot, I'll count it, like I did for left-handed character this year.
Mining my Rock and roll Goodreads bookshelf for this one and I found:A Thousand Threads by Neneh Cherry - this was shortlisted for the Womens Prize for Nonfiction in 2025. - Also, works for "Pop star" prompt.
Robert Plant: A Life by Paul Rees - Also, works for "Pop star" prompt.

I've been wanting to read Jane Austen's Bookshelf: The women writers who shaped a legend, and she had curly hair that family members and acquaintances regularly commented on, so I'm going with that!

Nadine in NY wrote: "I think Stephanie Plum in Janet Evanovich's books has curly hair? Can anyone confirm that?"I'm uncertain about that. I think the way it is described, I viewed it as perhaps "wavy" but not curly? Though in the Wikipedia article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephan...) about Stephanie Plum it describes her as having curly hair!! So there ya go! I adored the most recent installment...Now or Never! Especially the very last paragraph!
I am going to rely on those of you who know these things. It is not information that I retain as I read books, nor do many blurbs mention the hair of the characters.

Bree in Legendborn (a King Arthur retelling) has curly hair:
Elizabeth Acevedo usually has a curly haired main character:
The main character in The Dictionary of Lost Words has curly hair, which I only retained because I'm reading it right now.
I've had Miriam Margolyes's memoir This Much is True in my Kindle for a while, so I think I'll read it for this prompt!

Oh, my! I have read quite a few books this year with characters with curly hair! If only I can remember specific ones...
As I recall, at least one character in The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers #1) by Becky Chambers has curly hair...
This list might help!
