John Kelly December brings us to the finish line and gives us one last chance to celebrate the stories that carried us through the year. This month, we have a single category that asks you to look back at everything you’ve read and choose the book that rose above the rest.

Best Book of the Year: Members’ Top Reads from 2025
For our final pick of the year, nominate the one book that meant the most to you in 2025. Publication date doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you read it this year and it stayed with you. Maybe it surprised you, moved you, challenged you, or lingered long after the last page.

Everyone gets just one nomination AND, though I'm ecstatic if it was a monthly pick this club, it can't be one we read together this year. Having said that, please mention it if it was.

Submit your pick by Thursday, November 20. After that, we’ll vote and determine our final read of the year.

Let’s close 2025 by celebrating the stories that shaped us.

Julie Grindal HOW TO READ A BOOK
BY MONICA WOOD

On a personal note, I learned I have breast cancer and I am having a double mastectomy Thursday, 1/20/25.
Please send positive energy, prayers or whatever you are comfortable with my way. I’m praying they have caught this early, so early that no other treatment will be needed. I am also praying for an uneventful recovery process. Please and thank you!
