Christine Nolfi Many thanks for the invitation to join the group. I'm a novelist of book club fiction, and honestly can't cite one book that turned me into a lifelong reader. My late mother swore I began reading at age two, and I can't recall a time during my life when I wasn't reading. Everything. Anything I could get my hands on. Seriously!

Some favorite books during childhood: Little Women, Nancy Drew Mysteries, A Wrinkle in Time. As a teenager and young adult (when I knew for certain that I wanted to become a novelist) I fell in love with books like A Woman of Substance, Sidney Sheldon releases, James Michener's historical novels, and romance works like Princess Daisy.

Today, as a 66-year-old grandmother, I'll read just about anything but horror. Given my vivid imagination (a virtue all novelists possess) the only genre I avoid is horror. There's creepy stuff I simply don't want in my head!

At the moment, I'm reading Heather Fawcett's delightful Encyclopedia of Fairies; as mentioned, I'm a grandma now and wondering if I should try my hand at YA fiction at some point. Other recent reads: The French Effect by Patricia Sands, The Lake House by Kate Morton, The Stolen Life of Colette Marceau by Kristin Harmel, and The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray. All wonderful reads!

I'm originally from Ohio and now live in Charleston South Carolina with my husband. Presently, I'm in the lovely "idea stage" for my next book with Lake Union.
