Great yet horrifying review Sharon. I want to add this to my tbr.
I haven't gotten around to this one yet, but it comes as no surprise. I spent 5 years in New Brunswick, NJ, which is home to J&J's world headquarters. They regularly bullied the city, as when required to submit an environmental impact statement for their then-projected world headquarters complex, they simply stated that they would build it or they would leave.
Unfortunately, most large pharmaceutical companies are profit over people oriented and questionable practices or decisions occurred in the life of the company. They have also done incredible lifesaving work and J & J in particular has supported the nursing profession with significant investments. None of that takes away from all the harm that was done to innocent people. One of the reasons more oversight & regulations are necessary and not less like the current U.S. administration supports.

Somewhere there is an appropriate balance of regulation and checks and balances. Thanks for your insight about the great work J&J has done around the nursing profession.

Succinctly stated! We need to create an approach to life and to healthcare where prescription drugs are only prescribed if there are no other alternatives.
Oh I feel like this book would make me SO paranoid, even more than I already am. I'll mark it and maybe one day I'll get the courage.

Thanks so much, Kristi!
It's infuriating how these companies put profits ahead of humans with their insatiable greed....asbestos in baby powder of all things!!
Wow! What a phenomenal review Sharon. Definitely makes me leery of using these products, too. (I think I had already stopped, when I first heard the news.) ☺️
