Rosh...this sounds fascinating! Happy reading! I intend to eat some apple pie with my Pi! (Sorry...bad joke!)

Hehe, not gonna lie, but I am thinking of PIes while reading this, dear Fran. 😁 It is one heck of a book! Outstanding content and presentation!
I'm an utter math idiot who never even got to Pi in school. I only have the foggiest notion of what it is, and had no clue that it is used in geometry until you mentioned it! Not sure I'd be able to follow along with hardly anything, but I'd have greatly appreciated such a kid's book when I was in high school and failing math every year. 🫣😶🌫️😫
Yeah, math and me have never really been friends, so I don’t really know what to say. Oh wait. This reminds me of an episode of a Flemish TV show where the host learned the first 100 numbers of pi in one hour. He was given a trick to help you memorize numbers easily and it worked like a charm.
Glad this book made such a complex concept so easy to understand, without it becoming boring. Lol at the dad joke. Good review, Rosh.
sounds like my kind of maths book, Rosh ;:) thanks for the review and sharing your enthusiasm :D
i initially thought the punchline to your joke was going to be 3.14 stars ;)
but it does sound like it deserves the full 'Pi've ;)
fiddly dum, fiddly dee,
a ring round the moon is Pi times d.
but if you want a hole repaired,
the formula used is Pi r².
i think that's about all i remember about Pi from school. and I'm slightly surprised i still do! :)
tho i don't think I've had occasion to use it since... until today ;)
I love your joke! 😂 That alone deserves all the stars! ⭐️👏I’m so glad that you enjoyed this maths book. This sounds like a book that I needed while I was in school, and a book that I could probably use now (as I’m not very good at math 🤫). Fantastic review, Rosh!! 💗
Love it how you made the review so inviting. I do love Math but reading about it is a whole different game.
An interesting book about numbers/math? Wow. This is what every school should be using. Great review, Rosh!
Great review, Rosh! Oh, this sounds totally interesting! Always happy to see a book that makes a math concept fun and interesting. :)
Hehee... this sounds fun! Kids need such books to get hooked on math and enjoy it. There was a time I enjoyed calculus. Now, I can't remember a single formula, lol. Terrific review, Rosh. 💗

Thank you, Kealyn! Me too! It had the perfect balance of learning and fun.

Oh, you more than make up for it with your multilingual skills, B! I admit I'm surprised you didn't encounter pi in school. We didn't really have a choice. It is first introduced to us here while calculating the area and circumference of circles, so around grade 6 or 7. Had I had such a book then, I might have appreciated its beauty better.

Wow! Hundred digits in an hour is quite a feat, especially for a TV presenter who might not be a math nerd. Would be a cool mnemonic to know, even if almost useless in practical life.
Thank you, Thibault.

I'm glad to hear that, Hawk! I hope you can get your hands on it and share my hapPIness! 😁
Oh trust me, I went back and forth about using 3.1415 and 'Pi've as the punch line, but 3.1415 rounds to 3 stars, so it would be inaccurate. See, I overthought even the joke! 😆
I have never heard that little verse! Our math teachers weren't so creative! 😭 We just had to learn the formulae by rote. 😢 In fact, until I read this book, I didn't even know how the 2πr and πr² formulae actually come from the circle.
I think this is the first time after school that I've written π ! 😆

Ooh, thank you, Rachel! 💖 I graciously accept your 'Pi've stars for my joke ! 😁
Oh, I'm sure many of us would have benefited from such a book during our school years. Why did we have such boring math textbooks? 😭

Thanks!

Oh, Pi is still a strange concept to me as well! 😆 But this book did help reduce its strangeness. 😉

Aargh, no! No calculus for me! I loved algebra the most, though I did enjoy the challenge of probability, matrices, linear programming, and other such unusual logic-based concepts. Anything that went too much into sine-cos-tan was a gone case! 😆 I have forgotten a lot, but some parts are still active thanks to the kids and their doubts.
Thank you, Sri! 💖
Finally, a scintillating math book for ages 9 and up. Leave it to Rosh to discover this one. You totally sold me. Great review, as always!!!! 🖤💗 Keep 'em coming!
