Thankyou Maureen. I think you really got it. Remember the shit he had to deal with as a child. Lying, fabricating - whatever - was his way out. Don’t hate him for it. It was a was a survival mechanism that morphed into a tool of persuasion. But he never wittingly used it for bad ends.
