Oh my gawwwwwwd yes there is a musical! Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad originated the roles of Elder Price and Elder Cunningham and OMG...!!! 🤣 It is not a kind musical to the Mormon faith, but, it is HELLA funny. And talk about going off the chain in a direction you cannot predict..!

Oh, you definitely should. It's much better than second chapter, though I am admittedly biased against second chance romances. Though if you prefer high stakes/high angst, try Outbound Protocol or Sacred Heart.

Hi author here! I just wanted to address the AI images note. The cover is partially AI generated - the two main characters images were generated by AI. The background is a stock photo I paid for the licence to use from the photographer, with filters applied. The reason for the AI image usage is that there are NO photos I could have licenced or used that would have met the requirements for the cover. The LDS church is very proprietary and has made it impossible to find photos of missionaries that can be used. While I would absolutely love to hire an artist to draw my covers, the reality is that as an author just starting out in my first year I cannot afford the $500-$1000 USD they would have charged. Hope this clears things up!

@C.G Macington whether or not you could find a cover that met your requirements-- or close enough to give the vibe-- it is not just *this* cover as you seem to be implying. Looking at you back catalogue, many covers and promo materials are obviously AI generated-- even for things as simple as guys in suits. I refuse to knowingly support any author using AI images or AI writing on principle, even if it's just one image, let alone to the extent you seem to be habitually using it. Hope this clears things up!

I appreciate you sharing your perspective, but I need to address the seriousness of what you’re claiming.
To be completely transparent: I have used AI elements in exactly two book covers in my catalogue: His Elder as we’ve already discussed and Outbreak Protocol which the designer revealed after I had already published. When I discovered the AI usage in Outbreak Protocol, I made the decision to keep the cover because it accurately represented the book’s content, and I felt my resources were better spent focusing on my next release rather than commissioning a complete cover redesign at additional cost, time, and mental resources.
I do use AI as a tool to help generate some social media posts(primarily TikTok), which allows me to focus my time and energy on the actual writing of my books - the creative work that matters most.
However, your claim that “many covers and promo materials are obviously AI generated”, particularly for “things as simple as guys in suits”, is factually incorrect. These kinds of public accusations can be genuinely damaging to my reputation and livelihood as an author. If you believe you’ve identified other book covers with AI elements, I invite you to email me at cg@cgmacington.ca and I will happily provide you with links to every stock photo, licensed asset, and designer credits used on my covers.
I understand you have strong principles about AI usage and respect your choice not to support authors who use it.
However, I cannot let false allegations about the extent of my AI usage stand unchallenged. I take my work and professional integrity seriously, and I ask that critiques of my work be based on accurate information rather than assumptions.
