What a bummer that you didn't get along with the translation! The whole series got published in Germany last year and I read all 4 books. Books 1 and 2 were even 5 star reads for me and it's such an outstanding series, unlike everything I've ever read. I really enjoyed it, but there were some questionable narrative decisions in books 3 and 4. My favorite characters were absent for long stretches and it got quite messy because of that. Maybe we got the better translation in Germany, because I didn't notice anything weird about the writing. We did absolutely get the better covers though :D
I've noticed that Germany often gets incredible covers! But yeah, I think it's Anton Hur, I'm not buying that all of the authors I've read translated by him have the same kind of clunky prose. There's no reason that would be the case, you know?
