Fantastic review Yun. Hope you love your next!
Shame the main character didn’t always make sensible decisions and that the big mystery was so predictable. Though the twists being a bit unbelievable seems to have become a staple for the genre. Fair and honest review, Yun.

Thanks, Liana! This is the first book I've read by the author. As far as which one to start, I always go with an author's most popular book. That way, if you don't enjoy it, at least you've taken care of fomo 😅

Great review! It definitely felt pretty anti-climactic at the end for me. Like you, I also love a good thriller. It’s my default genre and I agree that this was an underwhelming one, unfortunately. On to the next page turner to keep our blood pressure up!

Finding the dumbest of dumb characters in a thriller is a tough competition, for sure. :D I'm sure I'd rant about all the things you highlighted - the plot holes, the coincidences, the OTT developments... Sorry this was such a downer, Yun. Loved your honest critique!

Based on books I have read and fully agree with your review, but even for books I haven't read, your reviews make so much sense. I might still read on of the books poorly rated, but at least I know what I'm getting into. #greatminds

Very well reviewed Yun. Well analyzed review 💕 The standard of thrillers are going down unfortunately. I really wish thriller authors take it seriously and set a good standard for writing
Sorry it disappointed..this is one of many reasons I prefer literary fiction to crime/thriller etc. Regardless, writing is art and individual tastes vary.
I am sorry you couldn't connect with this one. I agree with you that thriller do need to reach a certain bar. Hopefully your next thriller is more thrilling.
I remember this book because there were so many things I didn't like about it 😏 I buddy read it with Jayme and ranted away. Fabulous review, Yun!
Even popcorn reads need to have some logic to them, with characters who are at least somewhat rational. I hope you will find a better book next 😊 Great review/rant, Yun!
