An update on my uncle: He goes in for surgery at 10 am Eastern Tuesday. Any and all prayers are a blessing.
Thanks,
Jon
Jon, I didn't get this news until a moment ago (I'm a bit backlogged on my Goodreads updates). But I certainly said a prayer for Ron just now; God isn't limited by time! I'll continue to hold him up in prayer, and please keep us posted.
Thank you Werner. The surgery went well this morning. He will recover for the next four to five days in the hospital and then, hopefully, will be sent hom.

In the meantime, my mother was admitted to the hospital Thursday evening, was scheduled for surgery Friday morning, then surgery was canceled and she was released this morning. Meanwhile, Ron remains in the hospital but may be able to go home early next week.
Thanks for all the prayers!
Jon
I'd like to request prayers for my middle daughter Deborah and her family (and for my wife and I as we assist in the situation). Right now, they're expecting a death in the immediate family, and this week they've also been hit by a sudden death in our extended family (of a much-beloved 21-year-old relative), plus another major crisis that's very serious and devastating in its impact. We're depending on God's enabling grace, and we know that He can change situations to bring deliverance!
Warm thanks to everyone who's been praying for my family! Earlier this week, we had a major positive breakthrough in the crisis I mentioned above. Prayer made the difference; and continued prayer is appreciated, since my wife and I both are expecting the next several weeks to involve a great deal of both stress and demands on our time. But the situation now is vastly better than it was three days ago at this time, and we're profoundly thankful to God!
Just letting you know we're out here Werner. Trust. I know it's hard to here that at times of trial (really). God bless you all.
My husband received discouraging news from his doctor yesterday. More tests in his future. Asking for healing prayers. Your Sister in Christ,
Jon
I am asking for Prayer for myself. I have been taken off medicaid and food stamps. I am in need of Gasoline money to get to my appointments as I have to have Iron Infusions. I have re applied to both and asking friends here to pray for me.. Also, my Daughter as she just got out of the hospital. Thanks and God Bless
praying for you right now and will continue to do so Cindy. Money worries can lead to stress too in my experience so praying for peace in God and a quick answer
this is the 3rd Christmas since I've seen my 2 girls of 11 and 7.Will you pray for me please .Because its Christmas I have stress related stomach pain and burst into tears at the slighest thing.Normally I miss them but have learnt to trust God and live for each day. Christmas makes it much harder.

Our middle daughter's husband Phil passed away last night, after a long and debilitating battle with cancer. This wasn't a surprise (we'd know for about a year that his condition was terminal), and it's a relief from enormous suffering; but the finality of it is still hard on Deborah, and the couple had four small children. So continued prayers for the family are deeply appreciated!
Bless her , just before Christmas too, I pray for the Lords presence with her and the comforter to surround her and children .

I am so sorry to hear this. I will be praying for peace and comfort for all the family circle. God bless.
At 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, I need to check in for cataract removal surgery on my right eye. I'm fully trusting that it will go well, and it's expected to make a significant improvement in my vision. Nonetheless, prayers are appreciated!

The only reason I knew to come over here was because my home page told me---Janelle's post brought me here. I thought I had everything set up to come to me from here. :/ *sigh*
I am praying, and will be praying and thinking of you tomorrow morning, too. I know God will take care of things because I am asking Him to, but I just hate that I may have missed this. You may have to nudge me with an e-mail, or SOMEthing, Werner, from now on, OK? I will go see why I may have not gotten this.
~hugs~
Urs, thanks for your prayers and concern! I was thinking I'd mentioned this to you in one of my recent messages, but when I double checked just now, it looks as though I might not have. You probably got my message above (#31) further down in your updates, since Goodreads puts the newer ones at the top of the feed. And you'll probably get a bundled list of all posts in this group in your group updates tomorrow (but not tonight).

I'm sorry I kinda freaked out---I was just concerned that I may not see the next prayer request you make. :/ *covers face* Forgive me. x)
No, actually, I am starting to get them now. Maybe because this is the first time I have said/written anything over here? It tells me that I will now get notifications in my e-mail. I am thankful for that. See, I thought that by being at CG, and already getting notices, that it meant I would get all things from here by notice. I guess not.
Goodness, I am such an advocate for prayer, like I am about encouragement! I need to get my butt over here, and stir up things too! :D Prayer is SO important. For the person/s getting prayed for, and the person/s doing the praying. It strengthens our humility to pray for others, and helps take the focus off of our own personal issues. Thank You, Lord!
OK. I feel better now. :)
I wish I could be there to help Deborah. With you and Ms. Barb being at the hospital, she will need help with her chickenses. Prayers to you all. ♥

And no, I went back, too, and nothing about this was in your folder. But everything seems to be on the up and up now.
I'm silly! x)
~hugs~
Nah, Urs, you're not silly! (Hugs back.) And yes, do send a prayer Deborah's way for enabling grace in getting her four kids on the school bus in time tomorrow morning, with neither Barb or I there to help out! Thankfully, Tuesday is their last day of school. Now I understand what you meant about your Goodreads notification! Yes, you only get an immediate e-mailed notification of comments made on a thread that you've actually commented on yourself. Now that you've commented on this one, you will be notified when there's a new comment.

Yes! I was yelling at Goodreads! :O
I see that our prayer requests area is almost NIL! It should be overflowing! :O I am going to make a post and see if I can't get us in the habit of coming by ALL of the time when we need prayer. For us. For our friends and neighbors. Our animals. Everybody and everything. Do you realize that your PR was the first since December 2011?! :O We gotta do better. Can I get you to do me a favor? It seems as if there are two threads--one is one that Mike did, but his is under prayer request. The others are under prayer requests. Can you go in and change his, so it will be together with everything else? Is that too much to ask? You don't have to do it immediately, because I haven't gotten a post together in my head, yet, and I am still working on the PW over at my own place. Just whenever you get settled from your surgery, and can be back over here. OR! ask Mike to do it? That would be awesome. I just think it would be better/easier if all requests were together.
Gosh, this would have been easier on the phone! *LOLOL* x)
Urs, I'd like to see us become more intentional about praying for each other as a group, and I'll try to be more proactive about sharing my requests here. Thanks for encouraging us in that direction!I agree that it's better/easier to have all prayer requests together on one thread. Mike, since your thread only had the one request, for a lady who's now passed away, would it be appropriate to delete it?
That's fine. I posted it when she was going through the crisis. It's not really relevant now. Thanks for asking.I'd like to ask everyone keep my daughter in prayer as she has a long term health problem that is still causing her trouble.

Aw! Bless her heart. How old is she? She will definitely go in my prayers. Let her know we are lifting her up, and thank you, Mike, for asking us to help pray.

It's a lot of work, and it would entail folks keeping me updated. I'll just have to see who all gets involved. ;) I think I will send you a copy of my prayer wheel so that you can see what all goes into it.
You're welcome, Werner. I appreciate you letting me be the "loud mouth" around here! ;)
The woman we're talking about was in her 80s. She passed a month or so after the request Werner asked about. Thanks for asking.
Mike (the Paladin) wrote: "The woman we're talking about was in her 80s. She passed a month or so after the request Werner asked about. Thanks for asking."Yes, I saw that. Thanks for getting back to us so quick.
I was actually speaking of your daughter---how old is she?

Gracious God, we ask for healing that we may be whole in our relationships, our bodies, and our minds. Amen.
Your prayers appreciated.
