Imogen Wells Thank you for a very thorough critique, and I appreciate your valid thoughts on bi relationships. As an author, reviews are sometimes difficult to read, but I welcome criticism if it helps me become a better author, particularly with relationships and themes I have no experience of. If I ever write another MMF, I will take your advice onboard. Perhaps you’d be interested in beta/sensitivity reading for me.

Hi. Thank you for taking the time off of your day to reply. I would absolutely love to help in any way I can, and also offer my perspective as a bisexual man. I admire your willingness to take criticism. Many authors simply ignore the criticism and do what they want, so I absolutely admire you for trying to do better. Again, I apologize if I was being harsh or unfair in my review. I hope it didn't come off as rude or insulting to you as an author.

Freya Oh I’m sorry this book was a disappointment for you, Hossein 😭
Always love reading your reviews as it gives me more perspective on a bi man view of things. Why is it so difficult for authors to write well balanced poly romances with bi men 😭 i want a bi man in a poly romance to have a full boyfriend end to end, with “I love yous” kisses, cuddles and everything that comes in a relationship. Otherwise I’d just read MFM or MF.
Like, if I were to ever have a relationship with two bi men I would want that IRL too. Omg imagine the cuddle times with a different person in the middle each time 🤩

Love the author’s reply though!! Hope they do better on their next book 🥰

It's ok. There are always more books to read. I believe it comes back to centering heterosexuality in queer dynamics, and the reason for that is.. well.. that's how they see romance as a genre. Especially when they mainly read, write, and consume hetero romance, hence why the poly romance is always about how the guys feel about the FMC and not each other, FMC is the center of the MMC's world, and now we have 2 MMCs, so why not double the amount of attention she gets and make the guy's bisexuality about her? Queer characters require research, especially when you're writing them for the first time, and you're not part of the community yourself.

I'm not having much luck with books lately, they are hyped up and they don't live up to their hype.

Yeah, totally agree on everything you say. I haven’t read MMF in a while. Still gotta pick one of the recs you gave me. I think I may start Fractured (I think that was the title) in a few days though. Finally feeling a bit better anxiety-wise so I should be able to withstand angst 🤣

I’m sorry you haven’t had much luck with books lately. I’ve mainly read MM and some MF. But then MF books bore me after reading one cause most FMC feel the saaaaaaaame, and are all orgasmic queens, and I get bored and annoyed 😭

If you want to read something a little bit different, today I finished an MM book with a big blushing cop that finds a Daddy that sits in his boy’s lap. And one of the MCs is a side. Not sure if it’s something you’d like to read, but I found the dynamic refreshing and it was really a wholesome romance and sweet relationship. There’s some police action on page, which was fun to read. Well, in case you’re interested the book is: Will by Kerry Kilpatrick.

Of course, and thank you for taking the time to read and review. As I said, it was extremely insightful and not rude or insulting at all. Being critiqued is part of being an author. I will certainly reach out if I venture into MMF again in the future.

I have an MM recommendation for you given your recent bad luck with good books. Have you heard of Vawn Cassidy? If not, check out her Dead Serious series. Vawn Cassidy

Thanks again and have a good weekend.
