Noooo waaaaay 😬 I didn’t love the time jumps but the ending was so sweet. I listened to audiobook it was pretty good
Im more into story than smutt, wonder if you'll prefer the tv series. I was going to read this but might not now
Thank youuu, finally someone who shares my opinion. To me, the protagonists never had a real connection — it was just casual se*. Too much time goes by and the only reason it passes is so they can meet again for something se*ual. In the book, the relationship is never romanticized the way it is in the show.
Me too! I originally DNF’d this book and couldn’t understand the hype around it. Loving the tv adaptation though so ehh, it’s all good lol
I feel you on the not really knowing much about the characters but I felt that watching the show and reading along helps
I did 2 stars for it. Honestly if I didn’t switch to the audio book I would have DNF too. I also feel like I zoned a lot of it out and was still able to following alone. It’s way too over hyped. I really wish there was more story. Maybe less time jumps and just more plot in general.
The first book is smmmm better than this, it actually gives u plot and spice that makes sense with boys u can feel connection with!
I read this book again after watching the first 2 episodes and enjoyed it more than my first read. Honestly, the show really brings the characters to life. The actors are amazing at showing the emotional nuances in their scenes to make it more than just smut but a real emotional connection.
That exactly how the show feels too so I don’t blame you for DNFing. There has to be a plot for me as well.
I guess cause I watched the show first I feel like the characters yearn so much more 😭 but if I didn’t watch the show I probably would say the same thing
Hard agree- there was no actual romantic development, it was just spliced together sex scenes. Hoping the next one is better tbh
I was at 40% too when I almost dnfed. Something about the way it was written turns readers off just around that point from what I've seen. I read on until the end and it was alright, but the smut scenes were still as many as pre-40%.
I almost dropped too, but after 60% it got better (less poorly written sex scenes too) and I was able to finish it.
honestly the same problem I'm having with the show, I'd have hoped the book was gonna be different but maybe not then
I noticed the same thing in the show which really put me off from it - interesting to see it’s the same in the book. At least it shows they remained true to the source material? Haha
