'Great for young girls'... Hmm.. I had this collection forever and never got around to reading any of the books.. this and Hardy Boys collection. Reading them now might not be as entertaining then.
But sounds like you had an amazing time growing up with this one, saving up month and a half for one book!

Yep! I learned the value of a dollar, saving up for those Nancy Drew books! That's why borrowing copies from friends was a real treat! I just couldn't wait!
I owned a couple Hardy Boys books as well. Perhaps you should read a couple Nancy Drew books and Hardy Boys books, just to say you've tried them! Not the greatest literature, but please remember their intended audience! Who knows? You might enjoy them!
I had a few Nancy Drew books passed down from my mom plus I had Trixie Beldon books. I remember saving for the Trixie books and I think they were $1.60 each. My allowance was fifty cents per week plus I baby sat to earn extra. (People were more frugal and modest acting in those days).

True! And things were a lot cheaper back then! I remember a friend loaning my a couple of Trixie Beldon books to read. They were okay, but I was loyal only to Nancy Drew! :-)
I remember reading all these Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys series in my elementary school when I was in grade 5. That year our classroom was next to the library. <3

That would have been wonderful! I tried very hard to build up my own classroom library. Kids should always be able to get their hands on books!

Haha! Same, but I only read a few Hardy Boys books after I read all the Nancy Drew books!

What a lovely review. I remember saving money to search out certain books, comic books and magazines when I was younger. I am now starting to pass on books to my descendants as well.
I loved Nancy Drew too. And, I especially love when people donate her books to my LFL. Thank you for this wonderful review, Debbie. ☺️
