Thank you so much for reading and for the thoughtful feedback - I really appreciate it! This story started as an 800 word flash-fiction piece (Chapter 3, Anna giving birth), but I thought, what if I expanded on who the enforcer was, and why the clock was ticking - so it was always intended as a tight, fast-paced novella. But you're absolutely right, there's a much bigger world behind it.
I'm already working on expanding this universe, and also deep in the editing phase of a full length novel - Nothing We Remember is Ours, so 2026 is going to be a busy year!
