Jessica Guerrieri Thank you so much for this thoughtful, generous five-star review. Your reflections on how women disappear—and how we show up for one another—get right to the heart of what I was trying to explore. I’m especially grateful for your careful reading of Frankie’s sobriety and the way AA shows up in the story. It mattered deeply to me to portray recovery as lived and imperfect, shaped by sponsorship lines, personal interpretation, and the reality that it isn’t linear. Hearing from someone with long-term sobriety and an active program that this rang true means more than I can say.
I also appreciate your honesty about the discomfort around Frankie’s parenting—those moments were meant to feel uneasy, and I’m glad they ultimately felt earned within her arc. Thank you for spending time with these women, for seeing the ones on the periphery, and for sharing such a generous, nuanced response. Congratulations on your recovery, Angie!
