Wow, that's a lot of different writing styles and genres in one book!
Her prose style stays pretty much the same…she’s an artful writer…but I do think she’s intentionally playing around with some different genre tropes. It is what makes the novel more interesting to me than anything about the story (which isn’t all that original). It’s a very accessible book…but it has some layers and complexity that make it worthwhile.
