Read this in a textbook in 1986, may be much older. The narrator's cousin (or uncle) has something horrible happen to him every Thanksgiving: he's bitten by something poisonous one year, another year a rampaging bull traps him in a boat. This year, while he's about to photograph the turkey being taken out of the oven, the bird explodes, knocking out the cousin. The story ends with the narrator bringing a plate of food to the cousin who's passed out in bed. The clock chimes midnight and the cousin laughs. Thanksgiving is finally over.
