Thank you, Scott. I have raised the issue with Goodreads support as well. I am trying to navigate this since it is the first time I have faced the issue. I was told to post in the Librarian's group.

Yes, their first solution is always to send users here. Let them know that librarians cannot merge claimed author profiles, and that they have to do it.
