Great review. To try understand the roots of modern liberalism, I’ve been returning to some of the classical theorists of the topic. I’d like to do something similar for conservatism but to my mind conservative argument always feels more rooted in a particular time and place, arguing for a maintenance of the status quo or a return to maybe 20-30 years prior. Did you find much of this relevant to understanding conservatives of current day Europe or the US?
