I've been trying hard not to buck back at people's critiques and criticisms, but...
My writing reflects my thoughts/thought process--long winded, sometimes circuitous and not always as level as I would like. But just because you struggled with the words doesn't make their usage inappropriate nor was it me throwing it in there for shits and giggles.
Most of the words I used weren't archaic, though someone can easily argue that they may not be the most common usage.
I get bored seeing the same word used over and over if I can detect it.
The editing comment is fair--and a common criticism that others share. But stating that it's "way longer than it needed to be" Is an oversimplification. A lot of folks don't even recognize what I was angling for, and that's evidenced by your analysis.
While I appreciate every person who attempts my book, and Its a fools game to believe that you'll please everyone...I definitely took offense that you attacked my use of language as something that isn't authentic to my experience.
