Hello,

A while back, I retired my pen name (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...) and changed my books to my real name. tried to get my books and permissions on Goodreads merged/moved to the Lewis Knight name: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

It's a messy mix that has books in limbo, editions that need merging, and no access to make the necessary changes. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

We do not merge distinct profile names, and librarians could not do it in this case anyway as both profiles are claimed.

Hi, Lewis. As another librarian mentioned in Message 2, Goodreads does not merge distinct profile names. I'll address other issues you asked about.

I see that you've already made note on your Bard Constantine profile that you're now publishing as Lewis Knight. To further help your readers, you might want to add a link to your Knight profile.

Regarding publishing under the LK name: please note that Goodreads policy requires all editions of a book to list the original author name in the primary position. As/if you republish a Bard Constantine book with LK shown on the cover as author, Constantine is in the primary position and Lewis Knight is in the secondary position.

I glanced at your book list on the LK profile and corrected the author names on the editions that were immediately obvious. I didn't do a deep-dive on this, so you might want to review your booklist for accuracy.

Any new books you publish - not Constantine repubs - will show Lewis Knight as author.

As you gradually shift to publishing strictly under the LK name, you might find that some of your titles are duplicates. Some may be sitting off by themselves, not grouped with the other books of the same title. The "orphan" titles need to be combined (=grouped together) with the parent group or in the case of duplicates, merged (=deleted). These tasks only require a superlibrarian in select instances.

Please post those requests to the Book & Author Page Issues folder. If an edition is a duplicate that needs to be merged, a librarian in that folder will let you know if it needs to be redirected to a Superlibrarian. Editions with over 5 shelvings can only be merged by a Super, but anything under 5 shelvings can be merged by any librarian.

If you want to add books to a series, post your request in the Serieses folder. Instructions are in the pinned post[s] at the top of each Librarian Group folder.
