I'm about to start this- what were your thoughts? X
I don't want to colour your experience too much, and it did have its good points. That said, I very much wanted it to be great, but it just felt - kind of unfinished? And it makes a good chunk of His Dark Materials arguably redundant.
That's probably already coloured your experience too much, but the various criticisms levelled at it are probably fair.
Ok! I've read the first couple of chapters and will definitely read it. But I'm sad it's not great!
I think it's worth reading to round off the second trilogy - it just can't really compare to the experience of reading His Dark Materials.
No, I agree. I LOVE the original trilogy (but not the TV show) x
