Thank you, Cheri! Your lovely review pointed the way, and I adored this book! Thank you for sharing!
What an eloquent and intriguing review, Kimber!
I think that we'd all like to know a bit more about your life in the gaming community...

Thank you so much, dear Elyse! There is great value in gaming. I agree that playing in a multiplayer environment can help with problem solving and teamwork. These are both skills that can be used in a work environment also. I loved your review! Hugs!! :-)

I spent many years in various gaming worlds. Reading and gaming have a similar draw in that they give someone a place to go (virtually) when one has to stay put. ;-)

It is a splendid story, Jennifer! Thank you!
I like this author but have been hesitant about the gaming aspect. I appreciate your thoughts on it. Great review Kimber!

The gaming part of the story wasn't overly technical. I think you might enjoy this if you like Zevin's writing style. It was a brilliant story!
Thank you, Jan! :-)

Great review, Kimber! If you could call it gaming, I played the Atari pong and often traveled to the arcade back in the day. I've lost interest in the new stuff, but want to read this because of how you describe it - like "those few key players in our life". Sounds very good.

Thank you very much, Ron!
I definitely consider what you've mentioned gaming. A pocket full of quarters at the arcade is where we all started before home game systems came about. Tempest was my fave! :-) I miss the days of the arcade.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did! I look forward to your review.
Oh, your outstanding review certainly did this novel more justice than I did. But I suppose you enjoy gaming, whereas I cringe when someone asks me to play Scrabble! No thank you! Monopoly has me running out the room screaming, so imagine computer games! Don't ask me why! I have no idea why I don't like to play board games and such. Maybe the competitive aspect? Don't we have enough of that in the real world?
Anyhoooo, a totally excellent, thoughtful review. I would have read this book based on your endorsement, even if I wasn't already a fan of this genius author!

So very kind of you, Susan! I'm glad the book's brilliance overcame the gaming aspect for you, as I think it will for many others. I'm delighted these characters captured your imagination as well! :-)

Super review, Kimber!
As an old, very early, gamer (and an occasional gamer today - I know, I know, - at MY AGE!!), you have brought life to this book. I won't read(listen) to it, but it does sound like fun :))

What an enticing review Kimber, I'm in - also, 1987 and gaming - what a blast from the past. That's exactly what I was doing in my younger days - going to the arcade with friends and playing, Galaga, Galaxians, Pin Ball - and lots more, ahhhhh the memories. Thanks for putting this one on my radar!!

Thank you! I loved Galaga and pinball too. (Don't tell anyone, but I have a pinball machine at my house.) Good times, Mark!
I think you'll like this story since you were one of the 80s arcade kids. ;-)

Thanks Kimber, hey I'm wondering (and I will keep this secret) if you do have a pinball machine at home, so very game is free, does it take the pressure off you? I sued to take $5 of my pocket money in 20c piece and every game was a matter of life and death!!!

Indeed! When we had limited funds, we did play as if our lives depended on it.
Free games can get pretty intense. It's all about holding the high score now! ;-)
