Betsy , I loved the Correspondent and I See You’ve Called in Dead as well. I have so much enjoyed our friendship here and the side conversations we’ve had over what inspires a writer . Looking forward to see what you will read this year. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year !
I need a whole new tbr just to add all the ones from these end of year reviews, and almost all of yours I have to add, except The Correspondent and I See You've Called In Dead, only because I already read them.

Same to you, Angela. That one conversation, you know the one, was like a light bulb popping on for me. Thank you for your friendship.
Betsy, I just finished reading E. Jean Carroll's memoir. It is all that you say it is. What an interesting and brave woman she is!... Wishing you all the best for 2026!
Loved The Correspondent as well and I now have a few more to add. Wishing you the best in 2026, Betsy.

What a fine and funny writer Carroll is! The best to you too, Holly.

Thanks, Antoinette. You too!
Such a helpful review, Betsy, of the books you read and held in high regard in 2025. That you recall them so vividly attests to their worthiness. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Laysee. Yes, a book that takes residence inside and remains alive is a thing to cherish.
Fabulous list, Betsy! The Correspondent and I See You Called in Dead are also on my summary list (and they seem to be on lots of friends’ lists)! They are both gems! I’m chomping at the bit to read the others you’ve listed. We have similar tastes and I get plenty of great titles from you! I love your thoughtful reviews and your perspective on things. It’s great to chat books with you! You also get extra points for living in NYC, lol. I love that place, even though I only visited it a dozen or so times! Have a great new year in books!
