Hi!I’m from California, but due to work and travel, I am often in other states and countries. My preferred type of books are all over the map as well. I enjoy reading memoirs, fantasy, non-fiction about nature or linguistics, fiction, and horror.
My goal for 2026 is to read 20 books. Last year, in 2025, I read 30, and it just felt like too much. I’d like to have a better balance between reading, and doing my own creative tasks like writing and drawing. I’m also learning Spanish, and last year read 3 of my 30 books in Spanish. I’d like to read 4 of my 20 books in Spanish this year. I’m grateful to have this group here to motivate me and provide community for the reading goal!
Happy new year everyone!
I live in Wilmington Delaware I like to read Non Fiction books
I found this group on the website
My goal is to read 50 books
Hi Everyone,I live in Maryland and enjoy reading historical fiction (Christian, Western, Regency etc.) some memoirs on a given whim, psychological/mystery thrillers, paranormal, and romantasy/fantasy. My goal this year is to read or audible 100 books.

Happy reading!

Hi Debby *BabyDee* and welcome to our group! We're so happy to have you! Historical fiction, psychological, mystery thrillers, paranormal, romantasy, fantasy, and some memoirs on a given whim, sound like a great mix! Your goal of 100 books is a fantastic one, and we're excited to see you achieve it. Looking forward to seeing what you'll be reading! Happy reading!
Hello all! I'm currently in Maryland and am a fan of science/nature nonfiction, historical romance, and fantasy. My goal this year is to read 100 books and expand my horizons. I'm also planning to read my little one 1 new book every week, besides their standard 15+ books with their night time routine. I'm hoping this group helps keep me focused this year and exposes me to new books. I can't wait!
Hi everyone ☺️. - I’m from Texas :)
- I enjoy all kinds of books; SOMETIMES I like to read books without looking at summaries and just dive in 🫣.
- I found this website through the Goodreads app :).
- My goal is 12 books. I don’t want to worry about “meeting” a goal; I just want to have fun, join a reading community and open up my world to more books. 💜

Hi Alyssa! Welcome to our group! We're so glad you found us. It's wonderful you enjoy all kinds of books. I've also been known to read books without looking at summaries, living on the edge. 😉
I like your way of thinking. Sometimes we give ourselves undue pressure by setting an unrealistic goal. But that's why in our group, there will never be a specific number of books to read or pressure to read more than you can commit to. That said, 12 books is a fantastic goal. We offer lots of opportunities — through challenges, discussions, readathons, and games — to have fun and open up your world to more books. Looking forward to having you connect with our reading community! Happy reading!
Haluerrrrrrrrrr Gohnar! ur fav catboy --I come from the country that is an archipelago and issss part of the Asian continent.
I like reading almost visibly any book that pops up in ma brain. No genre to have any prejudice or any biases on. I read every type of genre. But that doesn't mean I like every single genre, I prefer some genres and have an easier and more enjoyable time in some genres but still, i love reading any type of genres.
I found this book club because I was part of it in your 2025 version but I somehow didn't manage to even introduce myself or even do anything really cuz it was so late in the year. I'd love to participate in a full on yearly reading challenge heree.
and for my reading goal it's pretty much nothing I read whenever I can, which is like,.,,.,. most of the time so i tend to read like many many many books in which I also review every single one of them, me love reviewing books tooooooooooooooooo, i just put a reading goal in ma profile cuz goodreads asked me to lol. luv to see what this goodreads group offerss
Hi Im Andrea and I live outside Tampa FL. I LOVE reading but I’ve fallen out of the habit the last few years due to life chaos. In 2025 I actively worked back into reading. I wasn’t active on GoodReads last year but I tried to join an in-person book club. I have some social anxiety in large groups and found the large group, who had all known each other for many years, a little difficult to break into. I tried for several months and finally said goodbye to that group in August. Their schedule also was hard with my second job schedule - I provide a little virtual therapy on the side. The positive thing that came out of the group was the motivation to get back into reading and finding new-to-me authors. I love suspense/thriller/mystery/murder, YA dystopian fiction, some science fiction, historical fiction, self help (that’s an occupational hazard), and I’m always growing. Im a huge movie buff and feel strongly about reading the book (if it came first) before the movie. Im working on finishing up Project Hail Mary. Im typically way behind on what’s new or just released. Im one of those “last to know” people. Other than reading and movies, I love gardening, crafting, mild weather ( totally live in the wrong state), being in nature, board games, laughter, coffee & tea.
I found this group through the GoodReads app
My goal for 2026 is to read 26 books.

I can relate to the social anxiety in large groups. It’s great that you did try for a bit, and that it did give you the motivation to get back into reading and to find new authors.
Suspense, thriller, mystery, murder, YA dystopian fiction, science fiction, historical fiction and self help — sounds like you enjoy a wide range of genres. You are my kind of reader. I, too, prefer to read the book first before watching the movie. Also, if you enjoy suspense, thriller, mystery, and murder, you might be interested in our Magical Mystery Tour challenge It is one of our many year-long challenges based on reading mysteries, thrillers, and other crime genres. 26 books for 2026 is a fantastic goal. We’ll be cheering you on as you achieve it! Happy reading!
Hi ! My name is MaryAnn and I live in Colorado, USA.I usually read memoirs, bios, cozy mysteries, non-fiction esp. history,
some self-help, and others.
My goal is 24 books. I didn't do well last year, but I made it halfway. My reading has really been off for a year or two ... so I am hoping to change that this year.

Hi everyone!I’m Mel and I’m from New Hampshire. I was perusing some new groups to join when I came across this one. So I said, why the heck not?! Anyway, the kinds of books I read are romances. Almost any. I’ve read romcoms, dark romance, military romance, romantacy, suspense romance, paranormal romance…I think you get it. From time to time there might be a YA book in there about dragons or other sort of story retellings. I saw that in 2025 I read 46 books. I swear I read more. But who knows. I wanted to start off small for this year. Seeing how this is actually the first time I can dedicate a challenge for a whole year. So my personal reading challenge is to read 50 books this year!
I was in the middle of the Powerless series. So I already have two books down. Only 48 more to go and an entire TBR pile waiting!

And there are so many subgenres, the options are endless! 50 books is a fantastic goal, and we'll be rooting for you as you dedicate a challenge for a whole year for the first time. Looks like you're already off to a great start! Looking forward to seeing you here. Happy reading!
Hello everyone, and thank you for the warm welcome! My name is Cynthia. I'm Italian, an author of fantasy and inner-growth fiction (I've published Lyra Falconis and other titles). But first and foremost, I am a perpetual and passionate reader.
To answer your questions:
I live in Germany. I enjoy reading across all genres, but my heart beats for literary fantasy and fiction that explores resilience and identity.
I was looking for a space to talk about books as tools for life, not just as entertainment.
A good intention for this year... to finally start the reading challenge I haven't even begun yet!
I hope to exchange recommendations and perspectives with all of you. I'm happy to be here!
Warm regards,
Cynthia
Hi Pam from OhioI like to read Fantasy , & historical fiction. I read romance & mysteries as well. I read alittle of everything. My goal is 30 books but hope to read more! Welcome suggestions
Hi everyone, and happy 2026. I'm not new here by the strictest definition -- I've been here for about a year and did a couple of the buddy reads last year -- and I hope/plan to be more active in 2026. I'm in Northern California for the moment, though we plan to move sometime in the next couple of years. Not sure where yet. I love reading -- the only genres that give me pause are horror and anything that calls it self "dystopian," and I've enjoyed a couple of books in each of those categories as well. My go-to's: historical fiction, mysteries & thrillers, and true crime. I don't remember now how I found this group but I'm glad I did. My plan is to read 52 books in 2026 (I fell a few books short in 2025), 40-ish of them from my existing stash of "to be read."

Last year I read 129 books so I aiming for 130 books this year.
Hi, My name is Marielle, I live in the Netherlands.
I'm not new to Goodreads (member since 2013), but new in this group.
I participated for two years in other groups in Goodreads and I found this group through a newspaper article online about reading challenges.
I love lots of different kinds of books. At the moment I read a lot of mystery, fantasy, cosy. But, hey: check my shelves and let's be friends 😊
Last year I read 140 books, this year my goal is set on 100 (but I would like to finish some challenges and make a dent in my fysical TBR)

Hi, All, I am from Riverside, CA (Southern CA). Glad to rediscover Goodreads and to join a challenge for the first time. I like literary fiction, murder mystery novels (e.g., Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie); historical fiction; magical realism (e.g., Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Isabelle Allende), English and American literature from the 19th and 20th centuries, and some French authors (Camus, Guy de Maupassant, Gustave Flaubert). And more!
I'm an executive coach and consultant, as well as a professor for a post-grad program, so my reading time has been consumed for any years by textbooks and non-fiction theory. This also means my reading goal will be modest this year, but a solid one = 24 books.
Hi everybody!!!!!!! - My name is Emi
- I love to read books about history, politics, and philosophy. My favourite book is 1984 George Orwell.
- I stumbled upon this group by accident actually.

Welcome to our group, Patti! It's wonderful you are rediscovering Goodreads and joining a challenge for the first time. Your diverse taste in books, especially enjoying both English and American literature from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as French authors like Albert Camus, Guy de Maupassant, Gustave Flaubert, is fantastic. Literary fiction, murder mystery, historical fiction, and magical realism are a great mix! 24 books is a solid goal, and we're sure you'll crush it. Wishing you an excellent year of books in between your textbook and non-fiction theory reading!

Hi all! I’m Megan, and I’m from Scotland in the UK. I’m not new to this group, but haven’t been active in here for a little while and want to be more consistently active, so I thought I’d introduce myself! The genres of books I tend to gravitate towards are mysteries, psychological thrillers and contemporary fiction, but I also enjoy horror and a bit of romance occasionally! If the premise of the book hooks me, I don’t really mind the genre and I’m open to reading anything and everything.
I honestly can’t remember how I found this group as it’s been a little while since I joined, but I’m very glad I did as I’ve found a lot of good recommendations through this group and made some friends!
My reading goal for this year is 50 books, and I’m hopeful that I’ll manage to reach that goal and read some interesting books this year 🙂

Hi
My name is Anurakti. I am from India. I like to read almost everything except self help. I enjoy Lord of the Rings as well as Little Women, and a vast range of non fiction from A brief history of everything to personal account of Kashmiri Hindu exodus in "Our Moon has Blood Clots." I have no one type, but looking for more non-fiction, memoirs from troubled times.
I found the group while browsing Goodreads. And my goal is reading 25 more books this year (already done with 1 so far). I want to read more non-fiction, mostly related to history. Glad to be here.

Based on the information you have provided, I believe that you did that for another group, Around the Year in 52 Books.
You did set a goal here when you introduced yourself in December. However, you had added it to another member's personal challenge post. Therefore, I had deleted your comment and I had sent you a message about creating your own Personal Challenge discussion topic.
As your goal is 75 books, please go to this folder, 2026 Personal Challenge: 51-75 books and click "new topic" near the top of the page, as shown in the image below, to create your own Personal Challenge discussion topic. Please let me know if you need any further help.
Dear all,I am Indian by nationality, but have been staying in France for the past nine years during which I completed all my higher education till my recent PhD in physics.
I am interested mostly in non-fiction books, oriented towards philosophy and history of science, "vulgarisation scientifique" or science books written for public and argumentative texts. I want to consolidate the habit of reading books in my life, this year. I want to dive deeper in philosophical issues behind mathematics and physics. My target for this year would be to read atleast 12 books, one book a month.
I am starting with Against Method, by Paul Feyeraband.
Hey everyone, I’m currently living in Maryland. My reading is usually a pretty broad mix of fiction, non-fiction, manga, and webtoons. I ended up finding this group while looking up some 2026 reading challenges, which fits perfectly since my main goals this year are to keep building up my library and start reading outside of my usual box a bit more. Looking forward to checking out some new titles with you all.
