Hello! I've used GoodReads for quite some time, but I am new to the Groups feature and am excited to join this group! My name is Erin and I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, USA. I love to spend time outdoors with my partner and our dog hiking, camping, and swimming.
My favorite book of all-time is (the apocalypse themed!) Seveneves , and I'm also a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson (though his books aren't always in the theme of this group).
A fun fact about me is that I foster kittens for my local animal shelter. I especially enjoy working with undersocialized hissy kittens, teaching them that people are great, and then seeing them find a wonderful family.
I, sadly, do not think I would survive most apocalypses. My eyesight is absolutely atrocious, and I would be screwed if/when my glasses broke!
Welcome, Erin. I'm a big Brandon Sanderson fan, too. I think most of us read outside the group genre, as well as in it.
Hi everyone, I'm a fan of dystopian novels like 'The Handmaid's Tale'. I live in Australia and have a library diploma. I'll look forward to seeing your recommendations. Donna.
Hey all, my name is Charlton and I live on the TX gulfcoast. I like reading fantasy, sci-fi, and apocalyptic/zombies.
Lol!I admit that I am not the fastest to welcome people (especially on the weekends).
Welcome Charlton.
This topic fell off of the homepage because I didn't make it sticky... now it can get some attention again!
Hello -I've participated in a couple of book club reads but never introduced myself (I don't think). I like dystopian fiction and I hope to participate more in this group.
My name is Jeff and I'm originally from Wisconsin but now live in central Minnesota along the Mississippi River.
I spend my free time reading, walking my dogs, going to Twins games, kayaking on the river, going to movies, streaming series on TV.
I hate camping and like a hike in the woods but don't think I could handling living in the wild so I don't think I'd survive an apocalypse. Hopefully I'll die quickly and painlessly somehow.
Some of my favorites of the genre:
Metro 2033
The Day of the Triffids
The Dog Stars
Wool Omnibus
City
A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World
The Songs of Distant Earth
Moon of the Crusted Snow
Cheers!
Hi all, my lady & I read & watch a lot of dystopian & post-apocalyptic stuff. I even spend a ton of time playing post-apocalyptic videogames. Currently Fallout 76. I even have a post-apocalyptic story idea brewing in my brain. We read lots of zombie books! My favorite author of this genre is Jonathan Maberry. I mostly listen to audiobooks these days & the narrator that reads most of his books is Ray Porter (Love his work). I'm a member of several other goodreads groups/book clubs & listen to a lot of audiobooks! I don't write many reviews, but I think I'll try to write them more often.
Friend requests are welcome, especially if you live in the Los Angeles area. We are in our 40s & 50s. We have a 12 year old kid & a 2 year old Doberman. We also have an older pet rat & a Uromastyx spiny-tailed lizard.
Hi there! My name is Patrick Patton, but I write under the name P. S. Patton. My debut novel The Withering releases July 26.The Withering
Their world has reached its end... the fight for their future has only just begun.
The moon will soon collide with the surface of Noloro, and three orphaned teens have nothing left in the world but each other.
As the apocalypse threatens to end all life on their world, Rho is desperate to protect his little brother and secure a future for themselves, while Jeema falls captive to her dark past.
A sardonic traveling magician offers them a way off their dying world, but at what cost?
Their search for an escape will force them to face questions of flesh v. spirit, natural life v. eternal life, and physical death v. spiritual death.
Family, faith, and courage are at the heart of this end-of-the-world adventure.
Where are you from?
I'm from the Central Coast of California
How do you spend free time?
Usually watching interesting YouTube videos with my wife and kids, reading, or writing.
What is your favorite book or series?
The Kingkiller Chronicles
A little something about you that is interesting?
I have a band called Oh My Land—you can find us on most music streaming sites.
Would you be a survivor in most of the books we read?
Absolutely, I would.
It's nice to join this group, and I'm looking forward to seeing what post-apocalyptic books you all enjoy and adding some new reads to my shelf!
Sincerely,
Pat

Hello Everyone,I am Lincee and I love travel, food and learning. I published my first book titled The Untold Tales of a Sailor at Sea and am learning how to navigate this literary landscape. I never thought it would be such an emotional and mental rollercoaster. Anyone else feel this way? When I am not writing or reading, I am at the gym. My gym workouts and resistance to chocolate are my biggest challenges. I have to pray every day otherwise I will stuff my face with chocolate and cry at the gym.

Hello I'm Tim. I'm from Chicago, but now I live on Florida's Space CoastIn my free time I like to read (duh), play video games, watch tv and movies, booze, ride bikes/trails
My favorite series of all time is the Percy Jackson Books. In genre, I'm a big fan of Y: the Last Man
Something that's interesting is that I've circumnavigated the world.
Would I survive in most of the books we read? Probably not, I'd probably be the dude who gets fed up and sacrifices himself to help someone else. Either that or I'd be a hermit somewhere just ignoring everything, and what kind of life is that?
Welcome Tim! I didn't know it has a name, Space Coast. That's fun.
Yeah being a hermit would probably get old pretty quickly...
Howdy folks, I'm Dan, an author from the magical land of Massachusetts. I'm an avid video game nerd, a scifi/fantasy nerd, a history nerd, and... well, generally a nerd. I'm also a practitioner of American Kenpo Karate, so that might help in the end-times. As for my favorite book/series, that would be Frank Herbert's Dune. Every aspect of that universe speaks to me on a personal level and I've loved it for the last 25+ years(yikes, I'm old). Now for the good stuff. I'm going to be releasing my debut novel The Ashen War this year on 9/27, and I hope a few of you will check it out!
Hello all. I have been a lurking member of this group for a little while. My name is Sean from Aurora, Ontario, Canada. I am a video game collector (too many to actually play) and a sci-fi/fantasy/horror reader. I love the Dune series and have been diving into the expanded universe. I love the Murderbot series, All Systems Red, and the Mountain Man series, Mountain Man. I have also read a ton of apocalyptic and zombie fiction with a kind of perverse fascination with it. Three years ago I turned an alcohol and weed addiction into a reading addiction which has benefited my life in so many ways. I feel like I would fare quite well, as I love solo camping and hiking and have a rather large knife collection. Looking forward to interacting a bit more than I usually do.
