Lisa M. I have determined that my works Murder at Old St Thomas's, Murder at an Exhibition, Murder on the Pneumatic Railway, and The Dancing Colonel are not part of a series although they are all connected by characters. It is confusing readers, who think they are based on the same main character, which is more typical for mysteries. I am removing the series designation at all other sites, and would like them removed on GoodReads, too. Thanks!

Scott If books share characters, we can consider them a series.

Lisa M. Yes, but it's causing reader confusion, so I don't want to. Only a few characters are shared.

Scott Why is it confusing? Why are readers always confused about everything?

Michele Yeah, I'm with Scott on this one. There are many, many, many serieses out there whose books have shared/common characters rather than the same main character throughout. I can't imagine readers get confused by such a thing in this day and age. If it walks like a series and quacks like a series, it's a series.

Lisa M. Well, I hope someone at GoodReads can do it. The system won't let me.
