CandyStripedBlue I liked this book, but I know what you mean about people comparing themselves to Holden Caulfield. That annoys me too.

David - proud Gleeman in Branwen's adventuring party HA! You make an interesting point about Caulfield being so unlikeable. Although, that's actually one of the things I admired about this book, Salinger took a huge risk making his protagonist so abrasive. That's kind of how I felt about the TV show "House, M.D.", some of my friends said they couldn't watch it because House was such a jerk, but I actually enjoyed that he was so different from the usual "hero".

Robert Dunbar Ha. It's a brilliant book, Megan. But you're allowed not to get it.
