Audrey NOMINATIONS OPEN
==========================

– Books must be published by the first, be available internationally, and available in print form. Keep in mind that brand-new books may be difficult for our members to obtain right away.
– After about 10 days, 8 books from each genre will be chosen at random from the selection, using a random generator online (if necessary).
– Each person may nominate a fantasy book AND a sci-fi book, if desired. That’s two nominations per person, one in each category. Please include whether your nomination is fantasy or sci fi.
– If books are part of a series, they must be the first, unless the group has already read the previous book(s). You can see our previous group reads here or click “Bookshelf” from the menu on the right.
– No authors nominating their own works.
– No self-published or ebook-only books — we want our BotM to be accessible to as many members as possible!
– Moderators may use their discretion when accepting nominations. Keep the thread focused. Discussion about changes in rules can go to General Chat.

For The Cavalier, PageTurner Press LLC is the fraudulent publishing company from the scandal last year. Can another Mod advise if we accept this? :)

Generation Ship is an upcoming mod special. Do you want to still nominate it?

We've been debating this one. It was originally self-published but a publisher was sold the rights to publish an edition of the book and appears widely available. So does this qualify it for nomination? Any thoughts?

From my research it looks to remain self-published, although there was a kickstarter special edition and a bookbox special edition. I'm open to accepting it, and folks enthusiastically recommend it often. As far as availability, libraries might not have it, mine doesn't, but it looks easily available in paperback, ebook and audio at least in the US.

Audrey My library does have it. The author has since been published by Del Rey.
