Excellent review, Sharon! My neighbour during my childhood years was an alcoholic and through him, I've seen first hand the damage alcohol does to a family. I've been a lifelong teetotaler (not sure if my decision was influenced by what I saw in my childhood), but there's a certain loved one in my life who enjoys their drink. I've been trying hard to convince them to stop drinking at least hard liquor for their family's sake. I hope they can read this book and educate themselves better. Thanks so much for sharing your honest and heartfelt thoughts.

Thanks, Rosh. It's a great book to pass along to family, friends, and loved ones.

Great to hear, Left Coast Justin! Just an FYI, I recently had some wine from a winery called Left Coast. It's based in Willamette Valley, Oregon. The name of the winery is a nod to their geographical location and that three of their five family members are left-handed.

As you point out, alk is deeply woven into the social aspects of many societies, almost as much as coffee and meat, so very difficult to regulate the over-consumption which leads to so much violence and deaths. Nice review!
