Hi everyone! I’m Ilinca, a reader (and reviewer) with a soft spot for psychological tension, unreliable narrators, and stories that leave a shadow long after the last page. One book that truly messed with my head lately? The Silent Patient — but I’m always on the hunt for something even darker, even twistier.
Looking forward to discovering hidden gems, discussing narrative tricks, and sipping metaphorical coffee over a good plot twist.
Let the mind games begin.
hello all I'm Nick I'm a new indie writer. I'm working on my 2nd book and attempting to step a little outside the norm and write a psychological thriller . I mainly write sci fi. So I'm going a bit dark on this latest adventure, but they say you can get as creative as your mind lets you. so I'm having fun with it. i hope to interact with some or all of you, and i hope you come with me on my journey.
Hi — I’m new to Goodreads as an author, though not new to storytelling. The Last Gesture is my debut — a quiet, cinematic novel about grief, memory, and the choices that echo.
It’s not a thriller in the usual sense — more a slow burn through silence and emotional realism.
I’ve shared a short reflection on my Goodreads Author Blog: Some Stories Don’t Shout.
Would love to connect with readers who lean into ambiguity and psychological depth.

Some stories are loud. This one is quiet — but it stays.
In sharing The Last Gesture, I discovered the link wasn’t always opening where it should. Publishing is full of small lessons, and this was one of them.

To those who’ve already added it to shelves or shared a rating — thank you.
For anyone curious, I’d love to know what stays with you after reading.
Hey all, as an author, I'm looking forward to reading many of your comments on all things psych thriller. I personally write things more closely to real life; considering the world we live in now, it provides enough shocking material.
“The Countdown Deal may be over, but Debbie’s story continues to linger.Thank you to everyone who showed curiosity and encouragement — your support means more than you know.”

As Christmas approaches, I’ve been thinking about the small, meaningful gifts we give each other — the ones that stay with us long after the decorations come down. Stories have always been that kind of gift for me, and it’s been a privilege to finally share The Last Gesture with readers this year.If you’re still looking for a thoughtful Christmas present or a stocking filler for someone who enjoys emotional, character‑driven fiction with a quiet mystery at its heart, The Last Gesture is available in paperback and Kindle on Amazon.
It’s a story about memory, love, and the moments that shape us — and I hope it finds its way to readers who will connect with Debbie’s journey.
Thank you for all the support, the messages, the shelves, and the early reviews. They’ve meant more than I can say.
🎁 Wishing you all a peaceful, story‑filled Christmas.

Hi there. I'm a psych thriller writer but don't let that put you off! I write it because I enjoy reading it, and love being swept up in a story, a clever premise or being blindsided by an ingenius, jaw-dropping twist I didn't see coming. I love a flawed, complex character or a wry-eyed narrator. I aim to write the classical psychological suspense I love, but that has an awareness of the cultural phenomena of our current world.

Whether you’re here for the shocking twists, complex characters, unreliable narrators, or the slow unraveling of the human mind, this group is for you.
We’re a community of readers and writers who love digging into stories that challenge us psychologically and emotionally. From classic psychological suspense to modern mind-benders, we’ll explore it all — and we’d love to hear your thoughts, theories, and favorite reads.
Feel free to:
• Introduce yourself in this thread
• Share a book that truly messed with your head
• Recommend a lesser-known gem
• Start a discussion or ask a question
• Or just lurk for a bit — no pressure!
This space is open, respectful, and spoiler-sensitive (tag those plot twists!).
Thanks for joining us — can’t wait to see what you’re reading.
